So I see a lot of the prinsu style racks around here but I don't see that low profile style being very useful for hauling wood for campfires and aux fuel tanks.

I know those prinsu-like racks are modular but what other racks or cargo baskets are folks using for camping and other outdoors fun? Thinking of putting a cargo basket on my shell.

Here's my truck from last weekend because why not.

I'm running a Victory 4x4 roof rack (prinsu style) and you can carry whatever you want on there with a little imagination. Now, if you just want to throw stuff into it, you will need high walls and a full floor (expanded metal or the like).

Using your examples of firewood and fuel: With the victory or prinsu rack, you can take a bundle of firewood and tie it together then tie it off to the rack. Or, you could have a firewood box that you put wood in and tie the box to the rack. Auxiliary fuel tanks can easily be mounted via bolt down systems or straps to the victory/prinsu style racks as well (rotopax, jerry cans or standard gas cans).

The rack uses extruded aluminum for the cross members and they are pretty versatile.

Hmm thanks for the reply @WreckedRooster , i guess the flat racks are just a lot more versatile than the cargo baskets...

both are extremely versatile. Limited to your imagination (within reason).
