I'm no engineer, but I don't think so. If you are fully compressing both sides of your suspension at the same time, then yea, I'd say there's a chance you'll hit. But one side at a time, I'm not so sure.

You'll get a bit of side to side movement though as the flange / rear end moves around during flex. Id think the only way to know for sure would be to do it and test it, as every truck is a bit different. Worst case @Mully might be :welder: a new section of box tubing into that cross member haha

True but (in theory) won't the driveshaft, where it bolts to the differential... for lack of a better term, be a "pivot point"? As one side of the suspension compresses the other side is extending. So the drivehsaft shouldn't have substantial upward travel in this example, right?
@Mully test this out for us lol.

I am still running stock 2 piece shaft with CBD kit, got 11 leaf pack and only get vibs at 15mph. Want the TW shaft. I might just cut out stock mount and build a small xbrace where it was.

The possibility of the one piece TW shaft hitting the cross member has kept me from getting it. I got some take off vibes, but nothing serious. If I'm thinking about it right, the higher you lift the rear, the less of an issue it would be. Seems like with the Dakars (and anything higher) it may not be an issue, unless really loaded up. I only have the progressive 3 leaf (w/overload) and I imagine I'd be cutting it close, or hitting, if I loaded up some and hit some bumps off road.

I recall some people cut portions of their cross members and that didn't sit well with me doing that. I imagine the cross member there is more than just to hold the CB? I wanted to unbolt that cross member, but that thing is held in with heavy duty rivets and it seems like a PITA to remove otherwise. I'd be interested to see how one reconnects the cross member with enough clearance.

The rivets are hell to get out, but they do come out. Trust me, I did the BAMF hangers and it took me 2 days. I am thinking about removing the entire xbrace and building something that tucks up close to the bottom of the truck. Also make it to where it can be bolted in. Would like it to have the ability to bolt a stock CB and 2 piece shaft back in if needed. This would be a solution for a trail repair if needed.

I popped the rivets out, the way the frame is, even loose you can't get the cross member out without cutting it. Now it's just bolted in with Grade8 bolts :)
