For damn sure. I couldn't bear to read all 27 pages of this. The solution is simple. Take a long piece of paracord or similar sized rope; thread it through the gap between the end of the bed and the lowered tailgate. Tie something to the end of the rope that is big enough to not fit through the gap, like a horseshoe, big-ass washer, whatever. Run the other end of the rope under the lowered tailgate and over the end of it, back to where you are standing at the front of the bed. Give it a good pull; the rope will get trapped at the hinge end and pull the top of the tailgate up. Pull hard enough to latch it. Pull rope from the other end to remove it, it will slip through the crack at the bottom of the gate/ rear of the bed.

Stop making sense! That is not what OP wants! I've been formulating ideas on how to build a complicated rube goldberg machine that will close OP's tailgate. Give me a few more days and I'll post my solution. It's gonna involve the dead body's knee joint and electric motors stripped out of a vibrator toy.

OP bought the wrong truck for the job. This truck fits the bill.

Why not take advantage of the bodies nervous system. Wire his leg nerve to the lock relay. OP locks the door, relay sends signal to the body. Body spasms resulting in pulled string that closes door.

Also maybe wire it to his hand nerves... for later.

    Hey guys.

I was hoping you could help me close my passenger window from the driver seat.

Sure. First you need to take apart your entire truck, we are going to have to rebuild it.
