Shows you something right lol, Ford has been making pure garbage from 2018 and still going, never have i seen more engine failures in my entire life as i do right now. I do have a 2016 Shelby GT350 because i love mustangs and road racing but my girlfriend has a 2009 Lexus IS F, so we try to stick with reliable vehicles in this house lol

My girlfriend's 14 Escape with 70K on it the transmission went out 2 years ago . It was the nice trim with leather and loaded . Luckily the service transmission immediately light would go out when car was cool and we traded it in . We didn't lie about it when we traded because they never asked .

We were typical Ford or foreign.......The escape was complete garbage with the new rework. We had so many problems, traded it as soon as we could for an Altima, then a Highlander, never looking back.

Yeah i would never own a Ford without having an extended warranty for the time period you own the vehicle. My Shelby is going to be out of powertrain warranty at the end of this year, you can bet i will be extending that cause no way do i want to be on the hook for if that $20k engine has any type of failure.

Hyperbole at best, it's like working in the gyno office and thinking they're all like that.

I've had zero issues with my company provided f150 and it's at 150k. It get's swapped out in a few weeks with a new one.

What year and what engine is in that F150? Obviously the are all not junk, they would be out of business and no one would buy their vehicles.

Interesting take from a Ford tech. I've owned several makes over the years, and the only ones that I had major engine problem$ with were a Mustang and a Taurus. The most reliable were my older Chevy's and Japanese makes of any year. My neighbor swears by Ford, but he is under the hood a lot. I honk when I drive by in my reliable Tacoma.

Im sure if we had a toyota tech on here he could list what years and models to stay away from or name certain parts that have common failures. Im just saying Ford is making some garbage right now, they go through cycles where they do.

    Work in progress...
Sometimes a person just makes a mistake. They should have just used the access door. They should have made sure to put the bolts and washers back. They should have noticed the extra spacers after finishing, should have, could have, would have. I walk around my vehicle, now after/if I have it worked on. My wife has that fancy included maintenance/warranty. Well, at those high end auto shops the folks that do the final wash and clean sometimes like to add a little grease mark etc on the passenger side fender. Some folks are not happy that hard working individuals can own nice things.

Op here. went to the dealership. they fixed everything without any hassle and apologized. He also pointed out to me that another bolt was missing on the skid plate, which I didn’t see beforehand.

They owned up and fixed everything. I can’t really say anything bad about the experience.

That’s good news. I try to judge a business by how they respond to an issue instead of the mistake itself. We’re all human and make mistakes.

A long while ago (decades) a friend was the lead mechanic at a Ford dealership and he told me that he had thought about going to work for Toyota but the reality is that there is way more work for mechanics at Ford.

Middle of a cold Canadian winter and i dont have a heated garage so driveway is my workshop. I still remove my aftermarket skid plate before taking to dealer for LOF and rotate. Last winter buddy tightened the bolts with his impact and i had to replace them all after they were rounded. Filter housing was on so tight next service was hell....brutal !

I hate paying for something i can do myself but worse yet the feeling that they messed up my ride afterwards....but this is the last one Im at 90,000 kms now and once powertrain warranty done will be switching housing over to spin on filter....cant wait!

And BTW my dealership is pretty good and has been fair and mostly helpful...

Pro skid plats on my limited and they lost one bolt from the oil change compartment door on my last free oil change.

    I cried.
