Interesting. How’s it seem to work with in cab glare or working through the window? Back of the truck doesn’t cast too many shadows for the rear cam?

Inside the cab it's surprisingly dim with it on. I could easily drive with it on, but I wouldn't. The OEM dome light is brighter inside.
As for the backup camera - I haven't gotten a chance to test out with the light on yet.

I like that! Is that something made specifically to fit in headrest or something that you modified? Link or source? Thanks

I suppose that would be a very effective tailgating detterent. :anonymous:

I used a dremel tool to cut off the metal arms/prongs (whatever you call them?) from my middle headrest (which is now useless). The lightbar I bought attaches via the bottom mounts, so all I had to do was find a screw that fit the inner diameter of the headrest arms. Screwed that in and the posts were attached nicely.

For the wiring, you can tuck the wires behind the seat along the platic backing. It tucks right under and out of the way. Ran it towards the front along the door channels, and basically the wiring is hidden and clean.

It doesn't rattle or move at all so I'm quite happy.

With auto-dimming, it's not so much of an issue - BUT - I did get the inspiration from this:

You’re going to need six more light bars. :anonymous:

Finished up the install on my wireless crux box for AV function. The wireless model comes with a wired plug in to so I made some holes in my glove box for an HDMI pickup and USB power so I can run a SNES classic mini in the truck.

Managed to find the Crux WVITY-01 on Amazon for 60$ so couldn’t say no, just needed a 20$ HDMI to rca converter to finish the build, took a couple weeks to source everything but I got it done.

Mounted the two boxes behind the leather panel on top of the glove box, there’s a significant void there and a little bracket with a mounting point so I fabricated a little aluminium bracket up super quick and dirty, will never be seen so it’s good enough.

    upload_2020-2-13_12-48-27.jpg

Final product of the glove box, switch is for the crux box to toggle between wireless and wired video inputs. Not much space behind the glove box for all this but I managed to squeeze it all in there. Mounting everything into the ceiling of the glovebox woulda been an easier option but I wasn’t into it, prefer the ports on the side.

SNES games look pretty good on the trucks head unit.

First top coat since prep and primer. Gotta do 1 side at a time. Paint dry times suck do to weather the last few months. Rain every day and cold. Garage warms to 70F, but I’ve gotta air it out here and there.

I turn on my bed light whenever someone tailgates me, but it's not enough light.

    It's never enough...
