Think I broke my rear locker. Cruise control stopped working and now the battery is dead

    It’s been a long day.
    But I can’t figure out how a “broken” carrier bearing would allow the tire to rub the gas tank.
    Maybe the drive shaft could rub the gas tank. But I think it would do more than rub it?
    Are you sure the carrier bearing didn’t seize and then tear the rubber bushing surrounding the bearing? Effectively making the rubber bushing the bearing?
    This might be the smell you were smelling.


    Anyhow, hope you get it fixed man.

    Maybe the brake light switch made the tire rub on the carrier and if you had just engaged cruise control AND the locker simultaneously at 88 miles an hour, you could have avoided all of this? o_O
