If I could get a tow haul mode programmed in, where shifting physically into 3rd would allow torque converter lock in 3rd and program the tranny to be stubborn to unlock or shift out of third, I would put a deposit down today.

Just loaded the 87 tune,,,on my 2015 4.0L auto....feels like it has better throttle response and better torque.....the shift patterns feel better also.....

What made you think the first few tune files didn’t flash properly? I’m curious to know because I’m not convinced my tune worked.

Exactly what OV said. When I went to flash the ECU, an error dialog box came back saying that the file was unsupported format or could be corrupt. The flash process never proceeded past that point. Now it works though! Everything flashed successfully and I can definitely tell the difference. My Scangauge has never read such high MPG's.

Over about a 20 mile 90% highway drive, I was hauling a couch for a friend and doing 55mph on the highway (in the right lane of course). My avg MPG's for that trip was 18.5. And I'm on 33's, stock gearing, with steel front and rear bumper and full steel skids. I was flabbergasted

For a second there I thought you said hauling a "coach" as in an RV. LOL! I have an inquiry out to OV in regards to an NA tune and towing.

I wasn't able to use it - my ECU isn't supported and I don't want to get a new ECU from the junkyard nor am I able to send him mine.

Do people think $400 shipped is a good deal?

Here are my experiences so far:
The tune definitely changed the drivability. With the 91 tune it seems to have more torque down low. When I press the gas pedal it seems to get going better with less throttle and less rpm. First gear holds a bit longer before shifting at partial throttle and other transmission shift settings are different. The other gears hold a little longer before shifting under certain partial throttle load conditions and the shifts are a little firmer. The engine revs a few hundred rpm more before shifting at WOT. As far as WOT power, it's hard to say. Additionally, I haven't done a true mpg test yet but seems about the same.
I tested the 0-60 times will both the 87 and 91 tune files using a 0-60 timer, but they didn’t drop off any time.
I put in a request for their updated 93 tune back in November. Still waiting on the files to try them out. Overall, I am satisfied with the drivability. Hopefully there will be more people interested in buying this tune for the 4.0 so more development can be done for our trucks.

Wade, curious if the power down low is a function of throttle position mapping or truly from changes in the ignition/fuel/valve timing.

Not sure. Had similar results when adding 93 to the tank on the factory tune though. My ultra gauge shows a bit more timing advance under load at part throttle, such as going up a bridge.

The tune causes my truck to bounce off the rev limiter a few time before shift to third at full throttle. Any fix?

If it is at rev limiter and holds then shifts that’s normal as that’s what I’ve experienced for the past year at WOT. Now if it’s truly banging against the limiter as it would if you floored it in neutral than that is a new issue.

So I'm actually possibly interested in purchasing. Troubling aspect is that I sent an email inquiry with questions on 1/27 and received an answer to some of my questions on 2/3. Responded with repeating the unanswered questions on 2/3 and have yet to receive a response as of 2/14. Re-sent email with cal ID and summary of questions today. Got techstream and tactrix cable working together and pulled my calibration and it's not on the list of supported thus far. Not sure if there's an updated list. A new customer and hopes of a tune probably has diminished at this point unless I receive a response.

    Calibration # 30430000 - 6MT 2005'
    Zendesk request #12610

    Update: 2/21/20 - No response.

Reading further it may not be possible to even flash my ecu? Promo for discount is ending soon and I started this question inquiry back on 1/27.

@OVTune - Sorry for the tag, but not getting responses via email.

Update 3/2/20 - Still no response. Promo discount has ended at this point. After further reading it looks like my ECU may not be supported. Was willing to send my ECU in, but likely not anymore with the lack of response. Oh well...

Is the 4.0 tune for second gens still available and where can I purchase (link please)???

    My info:
    CAL ID – 30480000 and CAL ID #2 – AOC01000
2014 TRD Sport double cab long bed. V6, 4.0 L Automatic, 5-Spd Four-Wheel Drive (Link). 33” tires and plan to go to 4.30 gears. No supercharger.

Goal – Want an 87 tune to try and improve MPGs for normal driving and towing trailer (especially out west with steep grades).

At this time we will only be offering support for the 4.0L with our tuning software:
