    Hello everyone,

While i was driving my car the check engine and traction control light came on, so I went to a dealer it appeared that the problem was with cylinder #1 the spark plugs were diry and some carbon was stuck in the piston. I have been told that it was because of using cheap gas. However, after one week the light came on again. Anyone having the same problem

2019 and already carbon stuck in the piston? Hard to believe that. I wouldnt trust a word those people say. Which gas you using? Ive been using shell only for past 10 years or so and never had issues.

Good luck and let us know on the outcome.

It may be likely that "Carbon stuck in the piston" is dealer code word for "We have no idea what's wrong so we reset your check engine light".

Cheap little OBDII code reader will be your friend on this one.

Take it back to the dealer. Have them put it in writing *check engine light on*. Hopefully you have the first visit in writing of what happened. If it happens a third time, they need to keep your truck until it is figured out.

How do they know there’s carbon stuck “in” the piston? Did they physically remove the piston to look at it?

While we have a couple of Moderators in the vicinity . . .

    WhyIsThis.jpg

I've noticed a number of posts in recent weeks where it looks "kinda like" the poster is has been banned.. with a blue line through their user name like this.
Is there a significance to this? Is it an aberration with my computer (my desktop AND my notebook)?
Does this indicate that the user is somehow immune to being banned??

Was wondering myself what that blue line means.

@Superdave1.0 , would you enlighten us please.
