It looks as if the clear film on my headlight is starting to come off...
The trucks got only 6000 miles, this can’t be normal.04D296CB-5BA4-43E6-9BE9-2625EA894E60.jpg

Mine has been doing it for a few years now. Started when I took a pressure washer a little too close to it.

I have since learned that pressure washer on vehicle is a no no in the detailer's world. Hasn't gotten any worse since i stopped using a pressure washer on it

I’ve always washed my cars with low pressure on the pressure washer and never had any problems. Maybe I just got a little close with this one. I don’t want to risk the life of the light, do you think Toyota will warranty it?

Not sure, I didn't even try because I saw it happen as I did it, and knew it was my fault. Doesn't feel right to get something for free. I figured I would replace the headlights if it ever got too bad. But like I said, it hasn't gotten worse and its on the top part of the headlight so it doesn't affect performance.

Why would they warranty your mistake?

Incase you didn’t read my reply, I’ve always use a pressure washer on low pressure. I’ve washed 100s of cars and even other Tacoma’s and have never had this problem. Ever. I wouldn’t call it my mistake as I pay attention to what I was do and like the guy above me said, I would have seen it start to chip off.

    So…
Post is a good response, especially when we live in a world that people have lost their (if it was ever there) integrity.

OP, do you have a clear bra film over your headlights?

What does this have to do with integrity? It’s a $40,000 truck and it’s starting to deteriorate at 6000 miles? I’ve seen threads about paint on these trucks chipping and fading extremely early and people saying that Toyota should warranty it. I’m not trying to pull one over on Toyota, all I’m doing is asking if this is common or if it’s something I should bring up to them.
