Hi @Gilmorec61 looks like you're going with different lights for your setup? Let me know and I'll get with @MAG GRY TACO15 so he can use these.

Man, I should have given up on this brake replacement on the first wheel. Rust absolutely everywhere. I hate Nissans.

Rear Diff Oil... Help me out y’all...

3rd Gen... Which rear diff oil should I use or NOT use?
Local shop has Valvoline, Lucas, or Mobile 1.
    Go with Full Synthetic?
Or go with OEM Toyota gear oil?

I use Redline 75w-85 for front and rear differentials. The transfer case takes a genuine toyota 75w (transfer gear oil LF) It is pricey but, to my knowledge, has not been replicated in the aftermarket.

I put Mobil1 full syn in my sister in laws 3rd gen. 75w-90.

Though I don't think the read diff changed between 2nd and 3rd gen and I've used the Lucas 80W-90 dino in mine since the first change.

I vote you go Mobil1. I got a case of 12 from jegs for something like $100. Way better deal than buying local.

Edit: same fluid in both diffs and x-fer case if 4x4.

Haven’t been on much but thought I’d drop in and show some pics as I’ve kinda grown new excitement for my truck. Been kinda bored with it for a while but some new shoes, a little more lift and added a Kenwood Excelon Carplay hu, and some new a/c control knobs and I’m back in love with her lol.

So i believe i witnessed ATRAC blow a rear end on a v8 t4r this weekend... I've always had a slight concern of something like that happening with ATRAC. Thoughts?

How might this happen? ATRAC only engages at slow speeds of 5 mph, and is only brakes related. How do you think this aided in a diff failure, and put 200k miles on the truck.
I ask because my last DD was an v8 runner. I have never seen this before.

Not entirely sure, and i could be wrong. Guy was climbing up some rock ledges with ATRAC engaged. Right rear tire was barely on the ground. Gave it a bump, nothing overly ridiculous, and rear end went. My thought was that at some point during the bump, ATRAC locked up the right rear that was barely on the ground, and threw all the power to the left rear that was stuffed inside the fender. Then boom...
