I recently bought a 2020 TRD OR DCSB. The storage area when you fold down the rear seats is nice, but it is hard and slippery like the pickup bed. I would like to put something over it so stuff doesn't slide around so much.

I suppose I could go to a carpet store and get a remnant to put back there. It is about 24" by 53". Problem with a remnant is that they are seldom hemmed and end up looking like crap with hanging threads after a short time.

What are other folks doing about that area to keep stuff from sliding around?

That's cut from soft rubber exercise mat from Walmart. The mat is maybe 3/8" thick, and I cut it down to fit from its original approx 40x60 size.
It's a soft foamy rubber and it cuts easily with a good scissors.
I had the mat for years before I ever had this Tacoma. Wasn't using the mat anymore, until I thought of this about 18 months ago.
Now I never fold the seats up unless some poor soul has to sit back there.

I tried the carpet and cut and glued it in all the depressions; however I found that the metal portions still made it slippy.

My solution was this truck mat from Amazon. It folds in 1/2 for removal, or to pull up seat. Is a great mat for kneeling to change tire, etc.

Groceries, etc. stay put.....beer boxes still slide a bit, but I love it.

What's behind the seat on the passenger side? Is that a built in cubby?

Has anyone tried to take the plastic seat back off and plastidip it? Not sure how easy they are to remove but if it's easy, this could be a solution that doesn't have to be stored somewhere when not in use.

I found this 24"x60" black rug with a non-slip pvc backing on Amazon, and I think it works exactly as I had wanted.

I wish I can get one but my twin brother will go ape shit if I tell him to sit in the front seat. The only place he'll sit is in the backseat. He complains about not having legroom (hes like 5'11) but that's his issue lmao

AHA! I knew I couldn’t be the only one annoyed by everything sliding around the back when the seats are down. I was contemplating cutting down and using some old floor mats but I think the exercise mat/folding mat solutions are far better. Wasn’t thrilled about the idea of attaching the mats to the backs of the seats

Or just take the back seats out and make a diy deck. I did it for less than 70 bucks everything from Lowe’s. Seats can easily put back in if needed.
