Noticed the anti skid wintery roads have taken a toll on my fender flares.
PennDot likes to put down metric shit tons of anti skid on these roads:mad:

Anyone know of any way to smooth out the tiny dimples and remove the gray?

Was thinkin plasti dip or full replacement someday. Open to ideas.

I was thinking that but maybe it would make the grey worse. Guess i could always dip it afterwards.

Sand and a repaint is your best bet. Sanding is the only way to remove the imperfections. However sanding will more than likely cause discoloration. Maybe try a trim restoration product at that point. But if your gonna go through all that you might as well pull the flares off and repaint with a mat black or color of your choice.

TRD OR and TRD Pro fender flares were made to take a beating but the SR5, TRD Sport, Limited fender flares are color matched and have a protective film so if you don't need the cheaper plastic thats used for the OR/Pro fender flares, I would upgrade to the color-matched flares.
Color-matched flares are made of a stronger material^

Dont about how to remove the dimples short of repainting, but this stuff works great for getting rid of the grey. Lasts a long time between applications too.IMG_20200216_1216499.jpg

A Heat gun will take the gray back to black and will probably slightly smooth it out along the way. It’s the only thing I would do.

Don’t have a suggestion to repair but do you have mud flaps? I’ve never seen any debris that high on mine

Yea I have mud flaps. Also had mud flaps on my 2012 which did the same to my paint cause it had the long bed.

Daily commute on paved mountain roads...
