I have a 2018 2WD with plain 16" steel wheels like the one in the pic
I just picked up some 16" TRD rims like the ones in the other pic. Can I take the TPMS sensors from my steel wheels and put them in the TRD alloy rims ?84989537_10219309192298172_4524371867330412544_n.jpg 84650327_1063897750623279_3357871351170859008_o.jpg

Yes, you should be able to- I believe they need to be turned 180 degrees, and if the tire goes completely flat the TPMS will probably break.

My truck came from the dealership with aftermarket alloy rims, but the original SR5 steel rim TPMS sensors- 4+ years later and no issues.

    And welcome to the forum.

Thank You for the welcome boynoyce !

I bought these rims W/tires as a take off with low miles.....didn't realize until I got home the valve stems were just regular rubber ones. I'm guessing he pulled out the original sensors and put them into his BIG after market rims when he did the lift. His truck was in the driveway and admittedly looked pretty cool. He did save the lug nuts that I needed since the steel rim lug nuts would not work. He claims he took them off with only 400 miles on the truck and I believe him because they look new.
Oddly the low pressure light in not on now that I have them on my truck ?

Here is my truck with the new rims.
Original tires were 245 75R 16 the new tires are 265 70R 16 and it feels like my truck went up about 2" in height.

    The new rims look good.

Not sure about the low pressure light.

If you drive more than 20 minutes or so the light will come on, and will go off once you park near your old tires again.

Thanks, it's just a plain Jane model with 2.7 motor
Got it in July 2018 and it has about 10,500 miles on it ( I live close to work.)
    I love this truck :)

Awesome LOL Guess I will have to have the old sensors put into these rims.
    Thanks for the warning.
