This is what happens when I drink coffee in the morning....

I've been reading fellow members advice and questions for a couple of years now, figured it was time to actually join. I first fell in love with the Tacoma back in the mid 90's I believe. I thought, that type of truck will be my first truck. Well it took 28 years, I bought my truck in 2017. A 5 year old 2012 SR5 from my boss, who was a pain in the ass about organizing and having everything just so, y'all know that type. As it turns out, he was the same way about taking care of his vehicles. Oil was golden, no rust on the frame kind of stuff. It's been a great truck, character marks already installed, I never wanted a brand new truck that I was worried about the paint getting scratched. If I had bought a new one, I would have taken it to my dad's and driven it up the old logging roads to GIVE it some character. I've replaced the struts and shocks, leaf springs, front rotors and pads. Put a K&N in, cabin and intake. Just had new tires put on this fall, have had no problems whatsoever. Deer season to snow storms. Although one ice storm was particularly a$$ puckering. I've done all work that has been done myself, oil changes as well. I don't do tires, if I had that equipment I'd be doing my friends tires along with my own... The first front strut was a cusser, second one not so much. Lessons learned there. Of course a torch and grinder with a cutting wheel helped along nicely there. Those nuts and bolts were virgins all around, rusty MF's! Didn't help that the factory saw it necessary to include a form of loctite on them. Anyway, I'm no professional mechanic or anything, just grew up on a farm! It also doesn't hurt that my Pop, 78, has a lift, heated garage, sand blaster, some power tools and he's a certified welder to boot. Airplane mechanic in the Marines he was, I've seen that old man tear an engine completely apart and put it back together. Everything I learned, I learned from him. He still likes getting grimy when I'm up there working on the truck. Old coot hasn't slowed down much! I'm not into frilly trucks they look good, but if you're afraid to get it scuffed up, maybe you shouldn't have a truck in the first place? JK, to each his own! If you made it this far, I'll trust your advice!
