Get married, make sure she has a better job than you, tell her you want a new truck. (Do it early while she still likes you)

I'm coming out with a degree in BSBA Finance, looking for positions at the moment with some phone interviews on the way (So obviously nothing locked up).

I have $0 student debt, and I am not looking to get one ASAP. Like I said and what another said above, I'll be riding my Honda for a long time until my mind goes bezerk!

I appreciate it, and yeah I have certain priorities ahead of a Tacoma and the saving for retirement and all that, but I know it is what I want one day 110%. Figured I'd hear what the actual owners had to say! Thank you for the warm regards.

I can talk to you all about a company's balance sheet, but I couldn't tell you how to handle being on your own and figuring out life - but you guys can! (Maybe)

I worked 2 jobs and sold my body on the side, slept in dumpsters and sifted through the garbage for food, paid off my student loans and saved some money, traded in my truck and threw some money down on a double cab so i would have a back seat to sleep in on rainy nights. Then i got married.....It's all downhill from here.

I think some of you are only listening to one body part when you get married. Don’t marry the first girl that lets you sleep with her, or that you knock up. Also maybe consider compatibility and personality a part of the equation. Just a thought lol. :boink:

It's all interest rates as long as you have income (or have a nest egg making you more than you spend). For your student loans, if you're paying 17%, you probably can't beat that playing the market so pay off ASAP (same goes for credit cards). 3% loans? Buy bonds (5-7% yield) at the least and pay off that debt on time. You net 2-4% while paying down your debt. Plus, I think you can still write off the student loan interest. HOWEVER, debt does cause some mental anguish and peace of mind can be priceless. Good on you to save for retirement (max that IRA!) and be mindful at a young age.

Saving? This is America. Just finance that bitch with 0 down for 120 months. Everyone deserves a brand new car even if you can’t afford it

Maybe a little bit of a different perspective.

Since you have no debt you're already ahead of most people. What you can do is figure out when you'd like to be in a house (since you're young that's a valid question -- are you ready for one soon?) - example: I'd like to be in a house by the time I am __ years old. Figure out how much it's going to cost you per month in order to get 20% of the down payment (plus some for fees) before your desired date. From there, factor in the maximum contribution (that they'll match) for your retirement plan, if applicable. Factor in your insurance premium, housing expenses, gym, Amazon, monthly fun box subscription for your girlfriend's poodle you fucking hate, etc. all of the other stuff you need to tick every month. Look at what you have left. Can you afford to finance a truck + truck insurance? If so, buy that shit and be happy. If not, you have to wait until you either 1. Get a raise. 2. Buy your home. 3. Split bills with that girlfriend with the shitty poodle.

My 96 Tacoma blew a head gasket at 301k so I said "Welp looks like I need to add another payment in my life."

Background info: I am 23, graduated school in May of 2019 (no debt thank the good lord), just got married in October, bought a house in May of 2019, bought a motorcycle in September of 2019 and bought my 17 Sport in December of 2019. to a list of debt

Tbt to when my now wife started college with the intent to become a surgeon... Now she is a professional photographer which is nice because she makes her own schedule and makes good money doing it but income is never guaranteed especially in the winter which is a bummer.
