Would love to hear if the new seal fixed the issue... I am dealing with the same problem in my 01 Tacoma, ARB already sent me a new seals to replace my old ones and they will reimburse me for the installation fees..

So far so good! I had mine installed for the 3rd time back in July or so. Recently returned from a two week trip from Moab, used the locker extensively without any issues! Pleased so far.

    Whole lotta stuff
Great to hear. I've got ARBs front and rear that I think fall into the bad seal period. Nice to know if it goes bad, the new ones are working out well.

Mine have been solid also, since the latest seal.

One my lockers is spewing oil out of the breather which was mounted in the engine compartment. It was assembled July 2019. But my compressor runs just a bit to lock and then never turns on again. Any ideas? Getting ready to take a multiyear trip on 6 continents starting in May!

Have any drastic changes recently in elevation/temp? Mine has spewed a little oil out of the front diff one time, and that was when I drove up a mountain, then back down in the same day, about 3,000 ft gain/drop. It was also balls cold. I did some reading and saw one person mention that so I just chalked it up to that and kept an eye on it. Hasn’t done it since, even though I’ve been back to that place a few times.

Edit: to clarify I have no front locker either.

    Very curious what Mule says.

I read somewhere in the ARB materials about blowback through the breather. Might be online or in one of the booklets. Hope not a blown seal.

If your compressor is cycling off and on, and oil is coming out of your breather, chances are high that your locker's seal is bad. If your compressor does not cycle, it's something else. Compressor turning on repeatedly is a sign that it is leaking air.

Thanks Actually I did take it to work about 10 days ago. I live at 2,000’ and climbed to over 5,000’ and the temp was around 20 degrees colder; around 10 degrees. Hmm, haven’t talked to Joe at Mule yet as todays his day off, still having lithium battery/switch pro issues of the camper battery running the truck accessories when the truck engine is off.

Luckily the air compressor only comes on for a couple of secs to engage the locker and then never turns back on.

Times getting a bit tight, stress is probably only just beginning

I’ve had 4 arbs in different diffs. All setup by different people. All leaked after a while.

You mean always the locker or always something or another?

Agree if the compressor isn't cycling, not a seal leak.

So have they leaked enough to have to refill the diff? Or is it just oozing? Mine may have put our 1 ounce or so

i'm unfortunately in this boat after having front and rear ARB's installed last year. rear worked for a while but now the compressor cycles on and off and i hear air coming from the diff breather. compressor always cycled in the front where oil has been creeping up the breather tube and there's also a small leak at the air bulkhead so there could be a few issues here. i'm going to reach out to ARB and the shop that did my install. hopefully i'll get this taken care of.

    glad this thread is here!
