Goodyear Trailrunner AT (The Bee's Knees?)

Looking into getting these, been looking and reading on here for a long time. All the other threads about this tire on here turn into something else at some point

Anyway, looking at 265/75/16 in load range C
Seems perfect for our trucks, but no one seems to run them
95% street but still need to beat a Raptor on KO2's in the desert/mountains at times

They are only slightly heavier despite being taller than stock (41 vs stock size 265/70 @ 35) have two extra ply to help with nasty California desert rocks, good ratings in snow for the local mountains in winter, and look to be a slightly bigger blocked/less aggressive KO2 style tread so should wear better/longer

What am I missing!? These things have like no reviews real world... Was looking into the Falken Wildpeaks too, but 4 ply, heavier (44 lbs.) and has less tread depth (14/32) makes me scared... and there is a lot of hate on here for them

They seem perfect, wondering if anyone can chime in

 

I havent read any hate on them here. They are expensive though. $280 more than wildpeaks for a set of four.

 

I'm about to order these, lots of great reviews. I wouldn't stress about 15/32 vs 14/32.

An entire thread on them. Yes they don't look as cool as some other tires but I am more concerned with the ride, noise and quality of them.

Looks like a tyre Bonnie would put on her Ridgeline for those trips to Napa with her girlfriends Carol and Karen

 

They look pretty similar to the Cooper AT3 or the Falken, good weight for 6 ply rating.

I think they are 4 ply, Standard Load (SL) could be wrong where did you see six play?

Would be awesome if they had a bit of extra protection!

Hmmm I show they are SL (standard load) will investigate further

EDIT: Solved! The LT AT3 LT is 6 ply, and the AT3 4S is 4 Ply

 

Goodyear makes good tires. We have them stock on most of our service vehicles and they don’t give us any grief. The quality will likely be there. The performance is unknown.

 

Used to run Good Year till i found Cooper's. All i run now is Cooper's. Waiting for these BFGs that came on my truck to swap back to the Cooper's.

 

I keep wanting to change tires to KO2s, Wildpeaks, Toyo R/T or Yokohama X-AT, but the stock OR Goodyear Wranglers have been working great on the wet roads and offroad rocks, snow and mud in the PNW. I bet those Trailrunners are great.

 

I have wildpeaks which fall in this same general area. The Cooper's get excellent reviews and are much cheaper than the gy's you have posted.

The Cooper's are one of the tires are have been researching for my replacements.

 

I found the stock GY's to be garbage compared to my wildpeaks in snow and mud. I also got 2 flats on road with the stock tires in less than 8k miles so I bailed.

 

Anyone try the AT3 4S vs the AT3 LT?

Unless you wheel a lot there is no benefit to the LT except looks. The 4s gets the snowflake rating where the LT doesn’t. On road the 4s will ride smoother and also weights ~6-10lbs less for the same size.
