    Greetings,

I’ve been lurking for some time. I purchased my Taco new in 1996 and it has been a fantastic rig. I have been all over Oregon and Idaho, it hasn’t failed me even once. I plan on keeping it as long as I am living. I had a reliable mechanic in Bend since I moved here in 2001. Unfortunately, he had to close up shop due to an illness and at that point I decided I would begin doing the maintenance and as much of the other repairs as I can. I don’t have a ton of mechanical experience, so I’m hoping TW will be a sort of lifeline to help me when I can’t figure something out.

My truck needs quite a bit of attention and I’m looking forward to getting it back into good mechanical shape ASAP. The first item I need to tackle is the driveshaft. It is making a tink sound when going from forward to reverse. Also, my former mechanic put a note on the last invoice I had about the driveshaft and a vibration he noticed. Unfortunately he closed up shop before I had a chance to understand exactly what he meant by the note. I’ll post a pic of the note on the invoice to see if anyone has any insight as to what he meant exactly, but I think he is talking about the splines being worn on the center flange, but I’m not 100% sure.

Also, I hadn’t made up my mind about signing up for TW until yesterday when I saw a local member at a stop sign here in town. I had seen pics of his Taco on the Bend thread last week and I took it as a sign I should go ahead and sign up. So here I am.

    Welcome from Southern Oregon!

If you don't mind the drive, Walker Driveline in Talent, Or, is considered to be a really really good shop. You might Google their number and give them a call.

Your welcome, maybe they will work for you, maybe they won't haha.
Also, I have family in the bend area so if you ever need something brought over from Medford, just ask and see if I'm headed your direction.
