Someone hit the left front bumper of my 2013 Tacoma and ran. The damage appears to be only cosmetic.

I'm hesitant to file a claim with insurance because I don't want my rates to increase even with the no-fault claim.

Does anyone have any creative suggestions on what I could do other than pay the deductible or replace it myself ?

I'm also open to a low-profile lightweight after-market bumper that doesn't cost a fortune and won't weigh down the front end.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Buy an aluminum or steel bumper to replace the factory one with. It will probably cost less than a factory replacement after primer and paint. Plenty of options out there and several vendors have a presence on this forum.

I have a Magnetic Grey Metallic front bumper for sale if you're around the FL/GA border.

If you haven't already, file a police report. This can usually be done on your local PD website. Once you have a file number, call your insurance. Depending on your provider, most times hit and runs do not count towards any accident forgiveness or against your rates. I would confirm this with your insurance before going any further either privately, or through insurance.

If going private purchase, I would follow what others have said and try and find a used bumper in your color. A new one with primer/paint will cost almost as much as an aftermarket bumper.

I've filed the police report. Just haven't taken that next step with insurance. I've looked for metal aftermarket bumpers but they all look like they weigh down the front end. I don't want to sacrifice on MPG or wear out my front suspension.
