I feel like this is a stupid question so apologies in advance.

I see these tires mounted with the triangle side tread pointing forward and in reverse. Is it optional or are they running backwards on the drivers side and forward on the passenger side?

    Braced for impact.

The WildPeak A/T3W is symmetrical so it does not have an inside and outside designation for mounting - it can go either way. This model does, however, have two different sidewall designs on non white letter versions.

Are the sidewall letters that are facing outwards the same on all corners? Here's a picture for reference:

Thank you for posting this info. I’ve only seen this tire on the internet so I am not sure. However, I believe you’ve answered my question.

if I chose the raised FALKEN letters, the sidewall tread would arch/point toward the front of the truck on the passenger side and toward the rear on driver side.

I live 1 mile away from Discount tire. I might drop in and ask to see one in person.

Thanks for posting both sides of the tire.

Asemetrical means they are mountable either way, there is no direction.

I can't think of any all terrain tire that is directional.

Happy to help and if we can be of further assistance in any way please don't hesitate to reach out

You're correct, asymmetrical tires can be mounted on either side of the vehicle as long as the inside and outside designation is mounted on the wheel correctly.

I know this is a bit of an old thread but I wanted to know if I should rotate my Falken AT3W’s from the fronts to the rears or from front left to rear right and front right to rear left? Thanks in advance.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
People used to swap tires diagonally. Which apparently is no different than going from front to back. So to answer your question, either is fine.

@DannyR cross your front tires to the rear when you have heel and toe/cupping on your front tires. This helps to smooth the high spots in the tires and helps reduce uneven wear. Rear tires come straight forward. Discount Tire can inspect and recommend accordingly. Rotations and Repairs are done at no cost also.

Discount tire, I wish you had a store in my area of PA. I need a good tire store for my needs, one that I can trust.

Idk, all I know is I bought Wildpeaks a couple years ago and they are wearing far faster than they should. They need replacing now, well under 40k miles.
Yes, they are properly inflated, I rotate them, and yes, my truck is properly aligned.
Other than the wear, I love them.

I also noticed that as well, mine only have 10k on them and they have less life than I expected. I just took it in today to have them balanced and rotated at my local Costco since it was down the street and was only $26. I will eventually be replacing them with some Yokohama Geolandar MT’s

I got mine at Discount tire, but haven't had them do anything past that because they were too far away. I had them rotated with oil changes.

I don't know if there's anything I can do about the wear, financially.

So I just had to come here with an update.
I went to my local Discount Tire today to have them measure the tread on my prematurely worn Wildpeaks. All 4 were down to 3/32 or less, and at 33,000 miles. He said he could replace them with the same tires, with a refund for the lack of longevity, or switch to other tires. Since the Wildpeaks had gone of over 30% in the last 2 years, I was open to seeing what they had.
He offered Hankook Explorers for about what I paid for my last Wildpeaks. They are supposedly very similar to the Wildpeaks, so I bit on those. So far they are slightly more noisy at 80 mph, but feel very similar otherwise. The noise increase is minimal, so not objectionable.
The key thing is I ended up out the door with $350 off of the purchase, with reasonably priced tires that should be every bit as good.
Time will tell on the tires, but I'm definitely sold on Discount Tires now!

@Pixeltim I am so happy they were able to help you out. Sounds like you got a great deal. Hopefully the Hankooks give you more life. Thank you for your support, we appreciate your business.
