My 2010 DCLB didn’t come with the rear subwoofer in it. The JBL stereo was stripped of it when I got it. I was thinking of using that subwoofer space as a storage area for tools etc. similar to the space on the drivers side. Anyone do anything similar?

Most of my tools are stored in the bed and pelican case due to the difficulty with accessibility due to rear seat passengers but I would likely mount my tractor supply 3-1 jack in that subwoofer slot if mine didn't have a sub. It currently is bolted to the bed rail using a hi-lift jack bed rail mount.(sold the hi-lift)

That’s a cool looking jack! Might need one :)

I was think of just creating a cubby where sub is. Maybe just cut out a rectangular hole in the plastic? Or remove the entire panel and build something out of wood. I was hoping to put tools or even a second battery in that place.

1st pic just removed pass side . 2nd pic cut bottom out leaving just top . If you going to make something removing bins will give you lots or room to make your own storage .
