I didnt read past the first paragraph. Title says it all. 2yrs isnt enough to know a person. Shit, most relationships’ honeymoon phase end at or before 2 years. If it didnt last any longer then oh well. Move on.

My cousin dated her now-husband for about five years before they got engaged!

2 thoughts. May be repeats as I will not read whole thread.

    1) high maintenance relationships always struggle and often break. Avoid another.

    2) don't even think about 'her friend' as a date. You know you have.

Nice truck. The main thing I came away with from your story is that the ex was high maintenance. Reason enough to be over it and move forward with high expectations. No one needs a high maintenance partner. A relationship should be natural and life should be better and easier (not that you won’t have rough spells, but they should be the exception, not the norm). You will look back some day in the not too distant future and be happy that you moved on. Silver lining... use your honeymoon savings for some killer mods for that nice looking Tacoma!

Bro, you do you and let her do her. Easier said than done but in the long run you will be better for it. My wife and I dated for 2 years then lived together for 3 years before we got married. I've been married for almost 25 years. Before her, I ruined some relationships. The right woman can make everything better. Don't chase after a relationship. Just go have fun. Take my word for it. I've messed up before. I don't plan on repeating that again. Probably need to get some strange just to clear your head. Just something casual. I know it sounds so cliché, but it works. Just my opinion. Good Luck and don't beat yourself up over this. These things happen.

Nope, I follow the law and the hippocratic oath. I do know a number of doctors who have gone that way unfortunately. They bring a disgrace to the profession. We are in the business of helping people not taking advantage of people.

That’s good because I’ve met the perverted asshole who was raided. He was a prick to an entire coastal community not just his victims as laid out in the complaints.

But that’s for another thread. Kudos for you in offering some support!

I've been shattered in this way before but later realized it was not all my fault. You'll see things differently when the dust settles. I think you dodged a bullet, especially with the friends with ex thing going on. Start working out, pray for strength and direction.

Lastly, notwithstanding destructive behavior, don't change who you are.

I'm proud you are sharing this and you are not alone.
