I usually have to drop my hood for it to close because my hood is heavy as hell. Not sure if I understand what you're talking about. Do you have hood struts?

No mine is heavy too but i usually was just able to let it come slowly until it touched the lock and just push it on the corners in front of the truck by the grill and it would lock in place now i got to slam it in order for me to close it and i rarely did that

Yeah, I drop it from 3-4 inches. It doesn't damage anything from what I've seen. The slamming noise is a bit intimidating tho lol

You can adjust the height of the hood in relation to the fenders, and also how tight it latches by turning the round rubber bumpers under the hood. There are two adjusters, one on the right, and one on the left. If they are adjusted too high, the hood might latch too tightly, as you have described.

Maybe the shop tried to adjust your hood, or turned the bumpers. They can be easily moved or pulled off accidentally while working under the hood.

Turn clockwise to loosen the latching pressure or lower the hood

    Adjusted too high:

    Adjusted low, loose.

Hmm, that is interesting. What did they do to your hood...

Is the latch greased up nicely at the contact and pivot points? Could any screws, bolts, washers, wires or tools have fallen into or become stuck in the latch or hood hinges/supports?

Inspect the latch. Mine started rubbing on the inside edge of the u-bolt on the hood. I had to scoot my hood forward.

Look around the tops of the fenders where the hood rests and up by the windshield cowl. They may have forgotten a tool somewhere or left something loose so it is now obstructing the hood from closing properly. Especially if you took out the rubber stoppers and still have to slam it down for it to latch.
