    Hey folks,

My wife ordered a OME full suspension package about three weeks before Christmas.

She didn't consider lead times and Christmas came and went - no big deal. The store told her we should get the equipment the second week in January or so. Well, Its January 31st and the word today is that the parts will ship from Australia during the third week of February.

I'm probably going to cancel the order, but I am curious about a couple things.

    1. Is it true that EVERYTHING from OME is drop shipped from Australia?

    2. Has anyone else had to wait months for their orders?

The guy at the store said this is an ARB issue (maybe fire related?)

    Anyone know anything?

I don't want to name any names, yet - but they are in Utah.

Its very likely that all of this is legit. I'm just doing my homework - i'm curious.

A buddy of mine ordered a complete ome lift from a reputable shop and he got a notification that the front and rear springs were on backorder for another month. Before even consulting with the customer, the shop had already shipped him the shocks they had on hand. Who does this? You would think the shop would ask the customer if the backorder would be okay or if he wanted to cancel instead, right?

If you have to wait months for something - to me, it isn't available - period.

I did cancel the order - I have no faith that 2/20 is a reliable date at this point.

But bottom line - what's up? I've done one of these OME installs before and there is nothing fancy going on - its just heavy metal and some parts. How does it take MONTHS to get this stuff?

I had something similar happen when I ordered the complete OME kit from 4 wheel parts. I'm disappointed I went to their shop in the first place but it was for a big sale. After not hearing anything from them for 3 weeks, I called the shop and canceled the order. They had no answers for me or could care less about the delay. That being said I think the kit must be shipped from Australia based on the lead time. Good luck with the future order.

Corona Virus is going to mess a lot of things going forward. It won’t matter of what country of origin if they depend on China for parts.

Is this affecting all suppliers of OME in the states? I just decided to swap out my stock coils for 885s. Is there a preferred TW vendor? Or any that offer a TW discount? Credit to camberg, got a great discount on my UCAs. I just figured if I'm tearing apart the front suspension, time to do all of it at once.

Could the whole country being on fire have something to do with delays? Most OME stuff hits a warehouse in Florida before ending up on vendors shelves. But if the containers aren’t full because they have slowed productions, well- Florida will be bare too.

Turns out that the place I initially ordered from lied to me: Rocky Road Outfitters

    https://www.rocky-road.com/ome-suspension.html

They kept leading me on week after week, month after month. They said "nobody in the US has these parts." They kept pushing back the ship date until I was so frustrated, I cancelled the order.

The next day, I called Wheelers and the set was shipped just a couple days later. Arrived today.

Absolutely disgusted with Rocky Road - just a shout out to the Tacoma community NOT to use these crooks!

Bilstein faced a similar dilemma last year and took months and months to catch up. Most of us can't fathom the total demand for these products which is what makes the backorder so high.

Semi-related: We make a lab product at work that is 2 cents of plastic and takes 7 seconds to make 96 of them. The backorder is 6 months. Production can only produce stuff so fast.

Ah man, getting lied to by a shop is the worst. No excuse for that.
