These are not monster big bucks but ive always felt there is more to hunting than that. my oldest son killed these this year and the 8pt shoulder mount is the one i missed when my stock was loose on the muzzleloader,he never would have sit where he did if i hadnt missed and told him acorns in there everywhere,he is very proud of them. 97FA67CB-8F4F-409C-BF24-6F691554BFE7.jpg39748BD1-0375-4346-9AE8-593BAE663835.jpg

About 8 years ago on a Saturday about 2:00PM during the rut in November we were at my parents and my dad went to put some hay out with the tractor. He calls me and says "come shoot this deer, it's the biggest one I've ever seen, he's standing here looking at me". I grab my rifle and take off running, he was 200+yards away from the house. One of my yellow labs went with me, I stopped twice and made him sit but he wouldn't stay when I got to where dad was he was sitting on the tractor with it running and the deer was standing 20 yards from him. When I stopped, my dog sat down beside me and this deer took off running. He stopped about 100 yards away, turned broadside and looked back. That was all she wrote, he went 10 yards and laid in the creek.

My wife said just put the tag on the back, but this is how I tagged it before I drug it out. Yep will be PCSing next year so have to keep it legal.

All done. A little different with the blue suede but I like it! Came out nice!

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Remove the tag. The issue with leaving it there is that as it ages, and it sits under lights, it will discolor the antler. You'll end up with a light stripe on the antler where the tag was. Of course, if you leave it on forever, you'll never see it. But somebody someday will take it off and will wish it had never been there when they see what it looks like.

Cole and I went and shot a couple .22’s today where we hunt. I bought this pistol and ammo in 1994. His first time shooting a pistol and he did awesome. He shot about 200 rounds, one mag through the rifle.

Cole’s birthday is coming up and he wants a hunting party. Wife ordered some props and here’s one of them.
