I’m installing a new stereo and I have an extra sub I want to throw in the back seat. What do I need to do to retain my JBL sub while also adding my new one?

I know nothing about the jbl edition trucks. But wouldn't you want to replace it anyways if you have a better sub?

Well the JBL sub is a good size probably like 9 in and the one i have is 10 so it’s not much of an upgrade. And i’m really trying to thump if you know what i mean.

Might as well swap it out, I don't see the point in running a 9 and 10. I put a 10 in my truck and it sounds great. I can get that thump or I can just get a nice-sounding bass if u know what I mean haha. I also have my sub running with the factory deck so I can't really mess with anything. In my old taco i had an expensive ass Kenwood and that made it sound unreal

It's not like you're getting rid of it right. If you change your mind just put it back in

Having a sub that can take more power, in an enclosure with the right amount of volume for that specific sub, as well as, a dedicated amp for that sub, to provide more power to it than the JBL amp, will give you the most bang for your buck. Matching the enclosure to the woofer is the most important.

You’ll want Dynamat, or similar, damping on all the panels to help with rattles. I’m slowly doing the damping. Below are when I did it to the rear section. You can also see what the JBL enclosure looks like.

what years did they make a JBL edition truck? I'm from Canada and I've never seen one or heard of one in my life. I wonder if that's even an option up here

Mine is 2015, and it was the EN Entune Premium JBL Audio with Navigation and App Suite option. I wonder if their issues with Entune made them abandon the package. I think it sounds great, but until I finish damping all the panels and floor, I don't really push the sub, as the vibrations distract from the audio quality. The bonus of damping will be decreased road noise from the all terrain tires I got.

Sounds like everything you could ever want from the factory. I've never seen that option where i live
