    Thanks fellas!!

Oh man, probably because it's a rabbit hole I might *try* to avoid for my wallet's sake LOL. With Tor previously mentioning quick change pulleys and HP Tuners...it already has me thinking dirty thoughts. :anonymous:

I like it! Now, being that I have absolutely no way of providing any real dyno-proven before/after data (coming from the AFE Stage 2 intake), please take these ass dyno observations with a grain of salt lol:

    • It it definitely feels like it picked up some ponies throughout the whole RPM range. (vs Stage 2)
    • Feels like the majority of the gains are in the mid/high end *shrug*
    • Supercharger whine is considerably louder

My own reasons for switching to the Momentum GT setup: 1) Much larger filter and 2) Air scoop option

Funny thing is AFE's website posts better "gains" for the old Stage 2 intake - but it's really difficult to imagine what those numbers even mean because the dyno graph they post for the Momentum GT is a Dynojet, and the Stage 2 graph was a Mustang Dyno. How those gains translate to a supercharged & pulley'd down setup like mine? Who the hell knows lol.

Momentum GT vs Stage 2 filter size difference

    @STiLL WILL

Okay, thanks for the info. I current have the Volant w/ air scoop and the Donaldson PowerCore filter. I love it, but the box is too big for the area and doesn’t fit exactly right. Plus it does not allow me to run my hood struts, they contact the box and end up bending the struts. It’s the little things man.

It looks like the AFE has a gap on the side next to the quarter panel, correct?

Been too long, Moose! Good to see your build evolving man! ;)

No prob! I'd say there's a decent amount of gap on the side, but not sure just how much the struts require when folding. Here's a pic:

    eBay

Search "2012-2015 TRD Pro Grill" (even though it's really not that). You'll see a ton of sellers all within $10-15 of each other for this same grill, just buy the least expensive one. :D

Fitment is on par with OEM.

Haha! I had some guys around town ask me about the grill too. I was skeptical at first when I came across it on eBay, but saw one Taco on IG that had it, and I was immediately sold.

It's literally a scaled down version of the Tundra TRD Pro grill:

    Well friends,

All good things must come to an end. :(

At the beginning of the month, the tradition of selling my trucks to cousins remains alive and well: this badass truck has been sold & re-homed. It's in great hands with my cousin, so at least it stays in the family! It had a little over 20k on the odometer before the title was transferred.

I've been looking to upsize for quite some time now. The wife and I have been wanting to do more adventuring via road trips - and being able to comfortably take family, friends, or even the dog with us is crucial. Not wanting to sacrifice reliability, and of course resale value, there was only one obvious choice for me...

...so say hello to my newest blank canvas: 2021 Tundra TRD Sport Crewmax 4x4. :D

    PXL_20200925_201406078_01_picsay_b0dd2c61e316998ecd9d49ddcdd223069862ebcb.jpg

I know I'll probably end up eating my words, but the build I have planned for this Tundra won't be as extensive or as custom as the Taco, but anyone who knows me knows I'll find ways to put my own touches on it.

For those of you on Instagram, you can keep up with my Tundra build: @cooltundrabro.jpg
(Feel free to shoot me a follow! ;))

Thanks to all who've been part of this Tacoma build - it's been one hell of a ride!

    Matt

Definitely glad you’re staying in the Toyota truck family, man! This isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last time you’re told that you arguably had one of THE CLEANEST builds on this forum!

Maybe tell your cousin to continue on in this thread for our sake lol

Congrats on the new purchase!! Your build has inspired many on this forum Matt, including myself! I second @Island Cruiser statement as this being THE cleanest build (for me:p) on this forum! Can’t wait to see what you got in store for us next!

(Side note: Anybody know how to become one of @STiLL WILL cousins? Asking for a friend )
