    Decided to create a thread on my review of the Goodyear Duratracs.
    My truck is my daily driver and I've had my 265/75R16 (32") Duratracs for about 2.5 years and about 30K miles. Used up a little more than half of the tire tread.

    Duratrac PROS:
    * Great in Mud, Snow
    * Looks aggressive
    * Average 14 MPG
    * Great in dry weather
    * Very grippy when going over big rocks

    Duratrac CONS:
    * Loud on the highway
    * Average 14 MP
    * Not very good in the rain, When going from a complete stop the tires always spun out if you give a bit too much gas

    Upgraded to Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/75R16 (33")
    Wheels: Method Race Wheels Double Standard
    * 16x8
    * 0mm offset
    * 4.5" backspacing

    I instantly noticed a difference in road noise. The Falkens are way quieter. I don't think I can even hear them on the highway. I have a 52" lightbar that makes more noise. With the Duratracs I couldn't even hear the lightbar on the highway.

    Resized_20200214_114203.jpg

    I got everything ready before putting on the 33s so I dont know if they would have rubbed without me doing anything. I did a cab mount chop so that it would be flush with the firewall and folded the pinch weld flush with the firewall before I put the 33s on. Cut off the bottom corner of the wheel well liner and screwed it to the pinch weld. Also had to trim the bottom corner of the fender to give the tires more space.

    DRIVER SIDE in front of the tire:

    CMC + trimmed the wheel well liner and the fender.

    The Falken Wildpeaks will be my next tires. The one thing I really like about them is all of the siping and it's full depth. This should make them better in the snow and should make them quieter on the highway.
    I'm anxious to hear your opinion after you've driven them for a while.
    Please keep us updated.

    I love my duratracs also im getting 18-19 mpg with mine. I also like the wildpeaks but I think there 8-10lbs heavier per tire than the duratracs that’s why I went with themF19E3EA5-CEA8-40AD-9257-430C42FF0619.jpg

    I’ve always heard wild peaks getting packed with snow and being awful.

    Just mounted the wild peaks to my girls 4runner, they have pretty bad wobbles at highway speeds. Hoping it's just a bad balance

    She was exaggerating. They are pretty good. Slight wobble at 55-60mph like every other truck with bigger tires I've driven

    I’ve got 265/70/17 wildpeaks on t4r wheels for my tacoma. I used to run 275/55 Nexen roadian a/ts on a 20” rim. The ride is smoother, quieter, and the grip was unbelievable. I could smoke the 20s without thinking and they had no wet grip. The first time I tried to burnout with the Falkens I smoked my clutch instead.....oops. They don’t even want to spin when taking off uphill in the rain. All this is about a month/2000 miles into the new rubber. I’m just waiting to see how quickly they wear down since that mileage/month is my usual for work.

    That's actually one of the reasons for the siping as I understand it. The snow stays in the small slits and it supposed to give you better traction in the snow. In the deeper snow, you'd probably want some of the snow to clear out of the tread, but only between the tread blocks, not the sipes.

    The siping creates additional biting edges to improve traction. Current tire technology has evolved and siping is 3D to allow for less flex of the tread elements........

    Edit - They also allow for water evacuation from the contact patch....

    Nice! I always had problems with the Duratracs in the rain, I don't think I have a lead foot haha. Can't wait for it to rain so I can really test out the Falkens.

    I think you’ll be please with them because I certainly have a lead foot and they just want to hook up and go on any terrain so far.
