Hey Guys and Gals. Summer ‘19 I picked up my first truck an ‘03 Tacoma. Bought it off a family friend for $4000 with 130k miles on it. It runs great but it needs a new paint job. Eventually I wanna take off the camper, put a 3-4” lift and get new wheels/tires and add grill guard and nerf bars. Today I thought I’d plasti dip the bumpers, thinking of doing the hood too even tho I tried repainting the hood myself, I think plasti dipping the hood would look better. I guess I wanna just have fun with it since it’s my daily driver. Anyways wanted to say hello and share! B1BE0E94-63D4-4EED-8979-81A7379B6428.jpgCB95D717-DCE1-4B5A-B2A4-A389CB0A9C3C.jpg

    Welcome,
you should look into raptor liner if you do any off-roading at all. Just because plasti dip doesn’t hold up very well to scratches. Raptor liner is pretty tough, but it is permanent so no turning back, where plasti dip can peel right off if you don’t like it or it gets scratched.
Beautiful truck at a crazy steal, do you have any frame rust?
It’s insane how much people would be asking for a 1st gen with only 130k. Most in my area are roughly 8-10k for the same truck just with better paint. You got a great deal and wish you luck with your build!

I plasti dipped at first on my other truck, before I knew any better. Now it's bedliner or nothing, Raptor liner or Monstaliner will hold up a lot longer. I bought my truck around the same time as you and this is what it looks like today.

No rust on the frame which sold me on the truck. I’m a look into the Raptor Liner and Monstaliner cuz I really like it blacked out so might just make it permanent. Thanks for the input.
