    Hey all
Brand new to Tacos ...my first Toyota and I love it. Been a GM freak all my life but I have had a soft spot for these beauties.
I am somewhat of a rev head and I know I can wake this 3.5L V6 up...just want to go about it the right way.
Past experience with the GM 5.3's I can gain about 30 hp with a tune CAI and a cat back just the easy bolt on stuff. I'm wondering if I can turn the same numbers with the Taco and with what products/combos.
    You guys are the experts!
    Any help would be fantastic!

Any thoughts on a CAI and exhaust combo? Is there any that work the best together?

I have the TRD intake flow accelerator in my stock airbox, plus the full URD equal length exhaust, plus an OVtune. I did notice a power bump with the full exhaust (downpipe-back). OVtune also gave a nice little bump in power.

Intake i went with the cheapest option, as i have not seen any credible results for aftermarket boxes. Where are you located?

I'm down the 401 in London....the mod bug has bitten! I have mixed thoughts on a CAI as well and have seen the TRD mod to the stock air box. Most factory air boxes are efficient I find and I think if you improve them (intake tube, high flow filter ect) I think that would be my trucks best bet. So I was also looking at an K&N tube and a dryflow filter as well. The OV tune seems to be a lot of work. I come from the GM truck world and my Diablo hand held tuner was a breeze. Plug it in to the OBD port and bang! Burn out city! Apparently I have a lot to learn about these trucks!

I take it you have the TRD cat back exhaust? Not the URD.....lol

Nice, i have a few tacoma buddies from the london area.

This is the exhaust i run. https://www.urdusa.com/urd-spec-u-exhaust-2016-tacoma-v6-aclb-dcsb/

It is equal length from the downpipes back. removes the rear cats. i had to add a resonator to mine because of droning. Apparently now URD includes a resonator before the muffler. It is still loud at 2300-3000 rpm but not nearly as bad as before. All other RPM's it sounds perfect. it gives a definite performance improvement. However i see now that you have a long bed, and this exhaust only fits a short bed.

This one looks nice, there is a thread on here about it: http://dirtydeedsindustries.com/product/2016-tacoma/

LOL it never ends. Just keep your eye out in the classifieds here or on Kijiji. there is a short bed mat for $75 on kijiji but you need a long bed mat.

I'm sporting OV tune, not hard or difficult at all to install. I also have AFE momentum intake and AFE high tuck exhaust. It's a little more aggressive sound that I thought it would be but could not go back to stock. OV Tune made the biggest difference. I purchased intake and exhaust from TDOT Performance, great prices.

I'll be over in Michigan on Monday, ordered one from Gollum Toyota in Warren. 80 bones. Funny thing is I'm invited to the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights as a member of a Chevy truck owners group. Don't own one anymore, but I'm not telling them that! lol

I look into that stuff...thanks! I think I'm going to mod my stock air box and go with an exhaust as see how that works to start with.
