Have you ever seen an engine without VC and coolant system gaskets? I thought it was crazy at first. Now 10 years later and no leaks, I can see it. The passenger side and rear bolts were a bitch to get to. I used Permatex Ultra Grey on this one. VH45DE - Phase I. The Phase II models introduced gaskets.

It takes some RTV application skill to get these right on the first drop.

I totally forgot about that MFer. After we first got the LX450, that was the first PM job I decided to do. Took a Saturday and Sunday and no I wouldn't do it the cheating long hose way. Hell yeah I would now though. MUD had me so convinced that everything had to be oem, so no way, I'm not running some long hose that the engineers didn't want there..... Lmaooooo I'd take the long hose option any day of the week now. I was like 26 or something, I didn't know any better. All I knew was 'I want to be like CruiserDan or IdahoDoug (of ih8mud fame) when I grow up' :D:rofl:speaking of which, I found out Dan runs the Cruiser Museum here in SLC. Which means I can't wait to get to the museum and see him:cool::D lol

I struggled to remove that metal pipe from the intake manifold for so long. When I did putting on the hose wasn't bad at all, I didn't go around the brake booster like some do. I just took a slightly longer loop than the stock pipe would so it wasn't kinked or anything and it stays away from the EGR pipe, I used a little sheath to keep it from chaffing and I even used the fancy green stripe thick hose. But now if I had to change it again, it would maybe take 30mins. Not worth the effort of keeping that metal tube.

Yup, I did the silicone replacement with those nice worm drive constant tension clamps. But that sounds about exactly how it went for me. I remember starting like a Saturday early afternoon, thinking it'd be a couple maybe 3 hours. Yeah. I finally got it done by like Sunday afternoon. And then it even dribbled slightly so had to tighten a clamp down even more, but thank goodness that was it :D what beautiful memories

No clue. Came in today to see it shattered. I taped it to hopefully prevent it from falling in.

Well if youre flipping it over, youre likely gonna shatter the window anyways.

I fail to see the issue here.

    That really blows though

Hopefully your comprehensive carries a $0 deductible.

I came home to a cracked windshield one time; I was furious cause I had just gotten back from Tx.

Decided to have a little fun with the people who are gonna be using these shipping racks Ive been building this past week. Blew a hole through the floor and welded a quarter on from the backside. Now to wait and see how hard someone tries to get that quarter...
