UPS/LPS + Porcupine Rim is a doable venture for reasonably adept riders. If you want a local-ish rider to go with you, I'd be down to meet you in Moab.

Klondike Bluffs north of town is a pretty good combo of trails as well.

First weekend in May is a pretty good time to do the Half Enchilada

    not enough.
TWE is always a lot of fun. F* burro pass though. I like starting at warner lake or kokopelli unless the group is in for a long uphill hike-a-bike.
As for skill level required, there are tons of technical riding on TWE. Definitely need to be up there in ability level. Contrary to most people's beliefs, TWE isn't pure downhill. there are some small sections of uphill that you can't just roll up. But still loads of fun.

That said, there are TONS of riding spots that aren't TWE in Moab. Trailforks is your best friend here. TONS of riding to be had around Moab. :)

Those couple short climbing hills on LPS slay me every time. They come when I'm just gassed enough that it takes some willpower to get up them.

The biggest problem trail offenders in Colorado (Springs) are horse people. Dont want to blame the horses but rather their self righteous owners post holing the ground and stomping on the sides turning tight singletrack into something more resembling doubletrack. One idiot can cause months of trail damage when its muddy. I've never seen a single horse owner at a trail workday.

Ive been thinking of trying to get a small group together... Right now I have 3/21 through 3/28 off for spring break, and headed to Bend 4/11 through 4/20.
Definitely Moab/Fruita in late March, and likely stopover in Fruita Easter weekend on the way to SLC before heading to the west coast. No damn way I’m going to Moab that weekend though (Jeep safari).

I used to feel the same way, but man that first dh after Burro is one of the best around. This fall I finally cleared all the uphills, even with the big bike, and finished the ride without a single stop (other than sessioning a few sections, and the top of Burro pass). Don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do that again.

I think meeting some of you guys might be a better option for me. Keep me posted on your plans or ideas. I'm headed to Crested Butte for spring break but Fruita might be possible for me easter weekend. I will ride just about anything.

yeah, burro pass downhill is absolutely beautiful. But I live in Northern Utah so I get those kinds of views all summer/fall. Also, loads of great downhill areas up here as well. Not completely sold on it but it does make the ride super unique. going from aspens to red dirt is unbelievable. It is getting a bit more crowded though. :/

Cool, as the dates get closer I'll post it up and try to get some peeps together. Should be a blast. Met with @honda50r and @Gunshot-6A last year, had a blast riding... Let's make it happen!

    Where about in N. Utah?
Man, last year they recorded 700+ on TWE in one day. Averaged 400+ per day for a week in the fall this year around October. Crowded? Yeah...
I try and get the second shuttle up, haul ass and pass as many as I can, then the trail's all mine :)
