Ok so maybe this isn’t a mod but I just sent off my last payment on my Taco and DAYUM I feel good. Took me 4 1/2 years and 147,000 miles. After this is the car seat mod which is also arguably the best mod because who doesn’t want to share their tacoma with their baby girl? Any way here is Loretta today and when I first got her.image.jpg F453938B-10E3-49EF-8AC0-E7CAA8C6C697.jpg

I’m sure you can do it SoCal_Erik. It’s been way to long since I’ve actually owned my vehicle. Next up is paying for my house

Nicely done OP on paying off the truck. Nothing beats owning your own vehicle along with having your own home to work on your vehicles. Continue to pretend to have that monthly truck payment and stick it in a savings acct for your future house down payment. I would take part of that first deposit to take the family out to celebrate. You deserve it.

Now you need to save some money. Even $20 a week. Even is good, ahead is better. Stuff is going to happen, having an ace in the hole is almost mandatory.

My 1990 Toyota pickup, paid off in five years, lasted eighteen years before being totaled.

    Good investment.

that’s my plan exactly. I’m going to put up the money saved from the note and do some things I’ve been wanting to do and prep for pulling a camper.

I just realize I paid mine off just about a year ago! I don’t miss those payments one bit.

I'm excited for the next couple of months to get in the groove of not having so many bills. Between this, dropping direct tv, and a couple other small things I’ll be saving around $800/month.

Paid my 06 off in 2013 (bought used in 09) and have not looked back. I put a 100.00 a month in the "truck fund" and use it for repairs, upgrades or down payment on next one.

That’s my plan. I don’t want a truck note for at least 5-10 years. There might be some toys or a shop note but I’ll enjoy these savings for a while first.

Car payments are always a drag. I've been lucky to never have one, always purchased my vehicles with cash and at a huge discount. Payments on upgrades however are a reality... Lol

So glad I took money out of the market to buy mine in cash a 6 weeks ago! The truck will probably see better returns in the next few years than the SP500

Yes for sure. Nothing like security of a paid off vehicle. All the mods in the world won't keep the repo man away
