@Rockoma5 Did you ever get your JL 8" micosub installed? How do you like it? Thoughts, opinions etc......

not yet. Had problems with my head unit install and had to return radio. I need to purchase another radio and install it then focus on the sub. I will hopefully soon. I had money set aside then like usual 3 kids and a wife needed it. Now we are in the holiday season and trying to do upgrades on the house....you know how it is always something. But This is my plan.

@Rockoma5 totally understand. I ordered mine in June and haven't installed it either....like you said, the usual stuff happens and it's always something. I'm shooting to get mine in soon, hopefully by the end of the year....so either way, one of us will have an update....hahaha

Did either of you finish this install, interested in the box but it looks iffy if it will fit without cutting

No but I do plan on cutting the plastic tray out or somewhat to fit.

@CyberJock13 Realize you're probably referencing the above guys for your question, but I went a different route from the JL as it was a Christmas gift (I can't be mad at em' it was cheaper lol) and had it recently installed and it fit perfectly. It's the Rockford Fosgate P300-8P. it's an 8" powered sub, 300watts and fit nicely in the back plastic cubby. I did have to trim out the inside storage bin for clearance but it worked out. Attaching pics below of my project as I couldn't find many pics documenting the process of cutting the storage or how things came together. This can serve as my very small contribution to this wonderful forum. Props to @destin_meeks for a tremendous install!

That looks good! 2 of those should do the trick, and leave me alittle bit of storage space if I remove the rear plastics

@dub808taco you guys will show me up in no time indeed! I'm sure those JLs will be pumpin and bumpin! I definitely won't rule out an upgrade in the future! ha but I'll likely upgrade components next. But yeah it's hard to find things to fit behind the rear seats. I didn't want to have to take out the compartments b/c I don't have a garage or much storage space where i'm livin now.

I just two weeks ago did a complete sound system upgrade in my 2018 TRD SPORT which included a JL AUDIO 10" SUB BOX designed specifically for tacoma's. fit like a champ behind rear passenger seat did not remove anything from truck and it sounds amazing.

Update: adjusted the phase to 180 degrees on my Alpine head unit and WOWOWOWOW it made a world of difference. This box rocks! High bass is great and man this thing kicks the lows. Very Impressed.

So is it just sitting on top of the seat bracket and kinda wedged in there? Would the seat latch without removing the seat backs with the subs back there?
