Just wondering if you have any update on your belt recommendations?

I know you're not asking me - but I have 15K on the Gates K050705 now and it still looks brand new. The Dayco that came with the S/C was cracking badly at the same point in its lifespan.

I recommend Gates belts as well, have about 40k on my Gates supercharger belt and it still looks new.

I’ve been on my continental elite (previously gatorback) since my initial change, 20k miles ago. Still looks new, I’ll probably end up staying with the continental belt for future replacements.

I should note though that I bought my gates belt from eBay and the packaging looked kind of old. I’m wondering if I just got an old gates belt.

Thank you all, mine need replacing. I'm going to give Gates a try looking at the their website it looks like they have a forced induction version (K050705RPM).

Glad I researched this after my local independent guy was reluctant to swap the belt. I bought the Dayco belt from the dealer to carry as a spare a while back. Gonna dive in the next day or so. At 35k. Glad I didn't have to do this on the side of the road while humping the desert in August!

Just had Toyota do a radiator flush and fill and they said the supercharger belt was cracked. The quote melted my brain.

Scroll down until you find the belts section or pull up your browsers find function and type in the word "belt." It will take you where you need to go and see to get belt info.

Conclusion: Gates RPM series K050705RPM is the only belt to have.

Yup, this. This is the belt I use now and it has been great! Just checked it after 5K miles. Still looks brand new.

    Old thread bump

40K mile update on the Gates K050705 - the regular one, not the RPM version. I had to swap out a couple of noisy idler pulley bearings so went ahead and did a belt swap while I had everything apart. At 40K miles on the Gates belt it looked great - no cracks or visible wear. It looked like it could have stayed on the truck for another 40K. It's the new spare and the cracked Dayco I had for emergencies went to the circular file.

At $16 for the regular vs. $60 for the RPM, I'll be saving my money. The cheapest part on my Tacoma is still the nut between the steering wheel and the seat.
