    Seriously? Even the cab implodes on itself? I'm afraid to look now.

    You did the work yourself? I tagged you a while ago asking more info about it but you never replied back. :(

    I still need to do this to mine!

    Fuck Toyota for doing this.

    In all truth they do it for crumple zone reasons, but the problem is that they advertise the truck to be able to be taken off road. Like, they push it HARD off road in the commercials too. Don't do that if you design your inner metal like shit. It's basically like false advertising.

    I remember that issue with the F150s!

    Now if Toyota would step up to the plate and design something to reinforce everything that would be fantastic, as they have the body design files to do so.

    That would be most ideal, or like Wishbone's and Sytfu's square design.

    What about the fender aprons? Those start cracking as well!

    Pulled my battery and a head light for another project and found mine is pulling apart from another spot now also. I may try to do something with it since I have easy access right now.

    I'm a DCLB and since this seems to be from frame flex, I get to add an extra foot of leverage to make it happen. I also did the energy suspension radiator bushing swap and flipped it. Not sure if that added to the equation. Not sure what my final fix will be. I pulled it all back together and kept piling tack welds across it, but I haven't checked them since my last trip. These things are to thin to do any real welds to them.

    Yeah, I think by direct connect you are putting the absolute full power of the flex into the core support. At least with bushings, they are pulling a part of that force away through distortion. I'm interested in the double stack method but haven't looked deep enough into it. I would think other than a custom rebuild that it is probably the strongest you can get and stay as close to stock.

    Are yall drilling holes at the end of the crack? Thats the best way keep them from propagating further.

    I didn't. If you look at my pic, you can see the tear actually went right through a hole. If I can get back to it. I'll add a hole just for the fun of it, but don't expect it will do anything.

    Yeah its no guarantee, especially if the underlying reason for the crack isn't addressed. But it makes it less likely that the crack will continue along the path it was on.

    Fortunately not, but still cracked the plastic housing of my headlight and dented my fender. Luckily there were no serious injuries.

    Yeah, mine was torn through on both sides of the top of the radiator and a few other places before I had the entire front end replaced.

    @Naveronski

    That is where mine are, when I first noticed it I even took a cutting wheel to it and cut the tears out hoping that would fix it...

    But nope...
