Thanks man. I was thinking about what you said as I was color sanding: "This is me half-assing a paint job."

Looking awesome and so much different than when you first got it.

But my question is, did you finish the bike you got from your dad?

Thanks Mike. Nope- the Yamaha is buried in the corner of the shop. I may get to it someday but the project lost steam so it’s not as high on the list as other things.

Its a spare tire mount that goes on top of a diamondback tonneau. The pivoting hinge allows the rack to be mounted on separate planes of the cover and still allows complete functionality of the cover. I’m actually pretty excited about this one. It’s getting powder coating once completed. Pics to come.

Seeing these connectors excite me for no reason at all.
But dang, they're so satisfying to use and beat the weatherpack/bd connectors all day.

I prefer the deutsch connectors and use them whenever I can. I have the cheap black and yellow ones on my truck from back when I did my fuse block way back and have been wanting to redo them all. The crimps are the same and require a ratcheting double crimper but I just like the look of the deutsch better.

I used a three pin connector out of that kit for the motorcycle fender project.

BD and a couple other vendors recommended me to use a butt connector or a crimp to connect my aux lighting to my factory up fitter switches. I couldn't stand that and wanted to try out the deutsch. Now I want to redo the BD weatherpacks for the two pins

They do look better! and I personally think they function a bit nicer when I connect/disconnect the points.

Installed. Damn, I’m proud of this one.

Owner is getting powder this week and has upgraded support struts to account for the weight of the rack and the spare that will go on top.

Ooh fancy. Think you can design one that's a full bed rack style that goes over both panels and uses existing Diamondback HD holes???
