I actually like yard work. I take pride in putting the hard work in, and then admiring it in all of its glory afterwards.

 

I just wish I could figure out the whole landscape design shit. I suck at it.

 

I'm no landscaper. Mulch around your trees and shrubs, weed n feed your grass in the spring, mow, trim, rinse and repeat!

 

I don't want fancy and a lot of upkeep. I just want something that looks good and all I have to do is cut the grass and do little maintenance.

 

That's why I mulch around my shrubs and trees, less weed eating underneath. If you really hate it, Roundup works wonders!

I think I'll mulch my whole yard so I don't have to mow grass this year.

 

I did the landscape timbers around the trees and the flower beds. Not really a fan of the look anymore. Seems old and outdated. Being that I have an extensive background on woodworking I mitered the landscape timbers around the curves in the sidewalk.

I've been pulling the shrubs because with the rain and humidity down here and them being in the flower bed against the house it gets that green mold looking shit on the house where they are. So I guess I have rock gardens in there now. lol

I'm gonna put cardboard and landscape fiber down this year and fill the bed with marble chips. Be one and done with it.

 

I'm a fan of the river rock.
