2013 Tacoma Trd Lift details and experience

Alright folks, did all my research and finally pulled the trigger on the lift I did. Haven't seen anybody do what I have done specifically, not that it was fancy, but just wanted more specific with new parts, at least that I could find, so maybe this will help people out. Ill list out everything used and needed.
My desired lift was 2.5" in the front and 2" in the rear. to lift, level, and get better looking tires.
I use my truck to go hunting, fishing, and taking a dirt bike to the track. I did NOT want to spend tons of money but wanted something solid.

I bought 2019 3rd gen trd off road shocks off a Facebook market place kid for 50$ with 1200 miles on them. sweet deal. That would give me 1" lift in the front.

I bought these strut leveling kit off Amazon. These would give me 1.5" in the front.

with this exact height of spacer, the top strut bolts on the stock shocks will not work, you will have to buy other nuts, to mount the shock to the spacer. thread pattern is 10x1.25 METRIC. this will be low enough to fit under the top of the milled out portion, then you must grind off the top of the strut to be flush.

I bought these AAL for the rear to give me 2" of expected lift.

I LEFT ON the overload spring, from the axel up it went, Overload, AAL, Leaf 1 and Leaf 2.
This gave me about 2 3/4" lift. Hoping it will settle a little bit.

I bought 265x75r16 Pathfinder Tires from discount for 601 out the door. Tell them that they need to lower the install price. I took my tires home with me and use it as a bow shooting back stop, took off another 12$. I realize not everyone is looking to penny pinch, but I am.

The lift looks sweet and rides better than two days ago. I had 84k miles on the previous shocks and the new ones feel quite a bit better. The whole truck sits taller and feels better driving down the road.

Measuring the front fender to a point I marked was 32.5" before the lift, after the lift was 35" even. exactly 2.5" lift.
The rear fender to my mark was 35 1/4" before the lift and 37 3/4" after. I hope the leaf will settle about a 1/2" but if not its okay with me, I think it looks good. Still sits a little ass high. but barely. not as bad as before.

Anyways hope this helps anyone looking to do what I did. And before you waste your breath please don't tell me I should've gone with fox podium 6k$ shocks. I don't care. If I remember Ill get back on in a month and remeasure the back end and inform.

Looks great. You'll get a lot of hate on here for the spacers up front but you'll be fine. I beat the crap out of some 2.5" spacers on a work truck with 285's and never had a problem. Good choice on the add a leaf in the rear though. It should settle a little bit. On my 09 I went with billies and Dakar rear leaves and I'm sitting ass high as well. You may have to adjust your headlights up a little. Good looking truck man.

 

haha I'm expecting lots of hate. There are people on this form that act like if you dont have 6k to spend on a truck you should kill yourself. haha for what I need, this is perfect. And thank you, I like it as well, been good for me.

 

Yep. I think they mean well, just don't go about it the right way. Some of us just want to make our truck a little more capable without going full bore with UCA,s Fox piggys, etc. On my 09 I have 265's and 2.5" in front and I really like it. When I drove it every day for work it was perfect. Great road and off road handling. Went anywhere in the oil field I wanted to go and still got great mileage. Now I drive a one ton welding rig and I can't wait to get back to my " yota" on the weekends. I think you'll be super happy with it. And when you haul the bike in the back or hook up to a trailer it won't squat so bad.

 

I've been rockin' a spacer lift for a couple of years now and do some mild off-roading and I've had no problems with it. I see some guys on here really flexing their rigs out and doing some serious rock crawling, but for most of us that do a little hunting and occasional off-roading, I think the spacer is fine.
I used a Daystar spacer that was urethane with bolt extenders so I've not had any strange pops or noises from it either. I check my top strut studs every few months and everything has been doing fine.
I did have to replace my alignment cam sleeves, bolts and LCA bushings though.
I also welded up my alignment tabs.
