    No, your not the odd man out. My 2012 Owners Manual calls for 75W-85 GL-5 for differentials. And I use Redline Oil Products also. Majority of TW owners here use
    $28 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)
    75W-90 gear oil in they're differentials with good results. I prefer using what Toyota recommends.

    I have a set of ECGS Dana 489's ECGS says to run Lucas non synthetic 85W-140 so thats what i run even though it sounds way to thick. I put non synthetic Lucas 80W-90 in my Toyotas they are not complaining. I would never use synthetic in a diff it does not climb as well and pinion bearings will not get as much lube slung up on them.

    So dawgn86, what name brand of gear oil and viscosity weight did you finally choose to use in your 2nd generation 2013? Glad it still looks good @ 1500 miles. But why are you looking at the fluid at only 1500 miles anyhow? Just curious...... but your Tacoma appreciates it.
