That’s why cash talks and bullshit walks, show him 14k in cash and see what he does.

    Who’s mad? Lmao

All you need to know is this - I paid less than the dealership paid for it, and less than it was valued at  and that’s what matters.. that and I smile when I know that I can comfortably afford my payments and live a nice life.

This discussion is simply about you coming in here screaming about how OP might overpay because you in NY got your truck for far less. Who cares? Look at where OP is, look at the truck, think about the factors that matter and give a valid (helpful) opinion to help him / her out.

coming in here talking about how you got your truck for less in a low demand state is something a useless tool would do. If you don’t know enough about trucks in CA to contribute well, why try to muddy the waters?

    Since it’s an 09 it’s a bit high.

It is a TRD 4x4 DCSB, given the miles and the year I’d say a good price is around 16.0, “stealing it” at or 15k or 14.5k.

He could have also put it at a higher price on CL knowing no one is paying that price on CL. He wants to start the offer high so you’ll offer where he wants it.

Could wiggle the price down perhaps. I would feel comfortable paying 17k & meet him where he wants. Pretty low miles for an ‘09, body is very straight and clean with minor blemishes. Also is the TRD with LSD so that is a plus so you’re getting some little goodies in there. I paid 16k for my ‘07 with 130k. Reasonable price for being on the west coast, I’m in Seattle.

No chance this will go for less than 16-17k. And that would be a bargain for the buyer.

It may seem like a bad deal to you, and i totally understand that. But that’s the market. Salaries are generally higher in CA. No rust means these trucks will go 200-250k miles with close to no issues. Maybe that CA is a four season state where you can really take advantage the outdoors year round. Whatever the case, 4x4 Tacomas don’t go for less than $15k until the 200k/15 year mark.

Tacoma's are in high demand in my area also but that price is high and I believe he would not even get close to that price if he tried to trade it in and that is why he has it listed on C L. I would only go to 12,500.00 cash and if that doesn't take it go to the southern states and get a nice rust free truck cheaper then a California truck

I just looked at a 2011 w the same color, long bed, trd Sport, 1 owner, very close mileage to the one you’re looking at at in Denver for 17,900 at a dealership. I offered them 16 plus the fees and they didn’t take it. It sold within the week. I don’t regret not getting it though. I’m w the 15-16k value crowd.

A week later i got a crazy good private party deal on a 13 trd off road. Less than what that guy is asking for the 09. There’s still some good deals if you’re patient. There are probably a lot of trucks you’d be happy w too.

I think Colorado and California have fairly similar markets for tacomas.
