TPMS stock wheels to Methods. need ideas

So Im getting some wheels and tires soon and was planning on just using my stock TPMS sensors...
but now that Im thinking about it, they would have to take off my stock tires, get the tpms, re-mount and balance, on all 4 tires, and then mount and balance the new wheels and tires.....

Is this something tire shops do? will they charge extra? should I just get some off Amazon?

I’m planning to do the same thing when I order my Methods. Hoping the stock TPMS sensors will work without any issues.

On my last car, my local shop was able to transfer the sensors from stock to aftermarket and it worked fine. Forgot how much they charged for the labor.

 

Okay yes you can use your original sensors and yes you need to balance your new wheels, your old tires will just require regular valve stem. About the shop who is doing the work that all depends on them charging you to remount the sensors on your new wheels.

 

And please don’t buy new sensor from Amazon, unless their original Toyota equipment.

 

That’s what I did at America’s Tire. Went from stock to NV305’s and Falkens, and they pulled the TPMS out and swapped them no problem.

You can only reuse the sensors if your original wheels are aluminum.
I went from steel wheels to Level 8 Mk6 aluminum wheels and the sensors are different (one has more of an angle than the other).
I bought 4 new sensors from Toyota.

 

I know this is a bit off topic, but what lug nuts did you use on them?I just ordered some and never even thought about lugs.

Just make sure to keep 6 original lug nuts in your truck if you are using the stock wheel as a spare.

 

I went with these, but haven’t confirmed yet if they’ll work.

Just a confirmation on that, Gorilla makes great product, we use them as well. These look to be correct for your rig. Just a few things to check due to being an ET(Shank) lug, put one into the wheel prior to putting it onto the truck to ensure the shank doesn't protrude through the mounting pad(doubtful but it happens). Also that you get 7 full turns of engagement.
