    Hey guys, I've been wanting to get a Toyota Tacoma for years now.
    I've been lurking around these forums for a while now, without actually having one.
    In January this new year, my 2016 Sedan was crashed into and totaled. If I am honest, I have no idea why I bought a sedan since I am an avid camper
    Anyway, after the crash I decided to make my dreams come true. About 3 weeks ago, I purchased a 2001 Tacoma.
    It is a 170k mi Xtra Cab, but it also is a 4x4 V6.
    I am really happy to have it. I've only had it for a couple of days since I got it from a dealer and they offered to do some maintenance on it with their warranty. Minor cosmetic details and wear and tear. The truck looks and feels solid.

    Only question is, what is your advice to make it last? I want to thoroughly clean the engine bay and undercarriage and maybe spray with some rust protection product.

    Just the basic keep up with maintenance and service, should be good for another 100000+miles. Not sure if it has a timing belt but see if you can find out when it was last changed
