Driver’s side has a bracket attached to the cover. There is an electrical harness protected by a pretty sturdy plastic cover that slides onto the bracket. According to the vid, it is supposed to “slip right off.” I get mine is rusted, but come on. I can’t bypass the cover to put in the mount because I can’t lift the engine any higher. the bolt that connects bracket is to the cover is way to rusty.
What am I missing? I am about to just cut the plastic piece & try to zippy the harness afterwards.

try a flat blade screwdriver or thin metal file (nail file?) to see if it's just catching on the rusty lip

It's got a clip on it that needs to be pushed or pulled. Mine broke and now mine does indeed just slip off. Pry it off with a screwdriver and use it as a slip on.

By now I would have broken the bolt off.

Cable tied it back on when everything is done.

On my truck cable ties hold so much stuff on

I do commend your spirit for hanging in there it seems one thing after another.

Zippy tie it was/is. Bracket was so mangled by the time I was done with it that it wouldn't have really served its purpose anyway.

Thank you.... One of the things I run into as I am doing these jobs that require specific tools (you could use a flex head in place of a reg, but not vice versa) is not having yet built up a dependable supply to cover the job's needs. I picked up what the vid recommended. Undependable were the black wrenches & the flex head ratchet, which was all wiggly, the head, the handle.... Then the hardware that I picked up was 19 & 17, not 17 & 14. It never occurred to me that I might need a bigger ratcheting wrench. Usually I can wing it if needed, a handy locking crescent or some such. Anywho, I had 19 sockets, but not 17 flex head wrenches. A typical set goes up to 15, which I thought would cover my needs.
& this stuff ain't cheap, even going the Harbor Freight route. I get the great suggestions on here & wanna run out & get all the tools, but have to pick & choose. Finally got my first blow torch yesterday. Never used one before & now I'm not quite sure how I have survived without it

Not sure what type are you live in (urban/rural), but if there is a city of any size around, some pawn shops are a good place to pick up used hand tools. Check just before a holiday when young men need cash for gifts for their women. :)

It never fails you always need that one tool you just don`t have you just never needed it before or it is in your box else where .

I would venture I have at least $200,000.00 in tools without figuring in the welding machines and welding tools.

Being Single I have most of the Tool boxes in the living Room.

At least yours are in boxes....
You'd need way more tables, but this was taken on the one in my living room....

Till I am forced to put things away to have room to eat again .
