Hi. Just joined yesterday as I am at my wits end trying to resolve a fuel pump issue with my truck. My kids tell me I am also a member of the 'Old Farts Club' as I am into retirement, but I am old school and don't care to pay outrageous fees for dealers to do work I can still do.I bought my Tacoma SR5 because all I needed was a light load hauler for my needs around the house. I neither wanted, nor needed a full size pickup, and this little unit fills my needs most admirably. Other than my replacing a leaky rack and pinion, the truck has run flawlessly. Went to start it the other day, and it wouldn't catch. Fire at the plugs, so I cracked the fuel line and found no pressure. Also couldn't hear pump run at fuel filler port. Didn't want to drop the tank to troubleshoot, but the Chilton manual I have is so vague (i.e., useless) in wiring diagram, so I dropped it anyway. Of course, when checked, the pump was okay, but no power getting to it. I checked all related fuses, relays, etc. but could only go so far with the minimal info I have. I am not one for throwing needless parts into troubleshooting. I like to be pretty darn sure before replacing something. I am proficient at electrical troubleshooting, but I need a wiring diagram with enough detail to do the job, and as I search, there are no hard copies available for a '98 that I can find.
Would be grateful to anyone who could offer a clear picture of the electrical wiring diagram of the fuel system, or at least send me a link to a reputable vendor who can sell me one. I'm down 2 days with this already. I miss my truck as it is my primary vehicle. Thanks for hearing me out.

Thanks for the replies. I am totally new to this truck, and my Chiltons manual is really lacking. I spent the morning troubleshooting, and have it down to the pump being powered during 'Start', but not holding COR in 'Run' position. Now wondering if this is a crankshaft position sensor issue (don't even know if I have one) or the dreaded ECM failure. Should I not see momentary pump power when I first turn key to 'Run'? I'm not beaten yet. This issue began as a pain in the neck, but now I have developed a much LOWER opinion.
