image.jpg image.jpg I don't run the steamer although I have had the opportunity to steer it once about a year ago on a tour. The crew boat at the bottom is my full time grindstone

I am a veterinarian, and worked over 8 years in emergency work, so I have seen some pretty crazy injuries. Unfortunately, you never think to get a picture of the craziest stuff. Craziest thing I ever saw was a dog eating its own intestines after they fell out of the abdomen through a spay incision that fell apart. I wish I had a video of that ordeal. But on to some pics I did think to take...

The worst bladder stones I've ever seen.

    IMG_20140312_120218_422.jpg
The worst case of constipation I've probably ever seen. The big worm looking thing is the colon, and it should be a third the size it is here.

A very unfortunate bullet wound that broke all four bones in "arch" of the foot.

One of the worst X-rays of trauma I've seen. Not the worst trauma, not even close, but one of the worst we x-rayed. There are three fractures in the left leg (it's on the right in the pic) and one in the right leg (on the left in the pic). At the top of the film, on your left side, the intestines have been herniated out of the abdomen and are just lying under the skin there.

This is the biggest laceration I've ever sewn up. It took right around 50 external stitches. I have before pics, but didn't want to post them without warning. I probably could have put my foot down in this wound. It was a big un!

And a tiny piebald whitetail fawn.
