85K miles, vibration in the pedal sometimes, rumble strip sort of noise when turning and just randomly off and on. Pretty sure it’s wheel bearing. I’ve seen a bunch of write ups and think I have the just of it and can turn a wrench pretty decent, I understand they need pressed off and new ones pressed on, but lost to which seals I need?? So far all I have are the bearings pictured. A how to simple rundown a dumb country boy could understand would be awesome!
    Thanks,
    Wyatt

There are 3 seals(2 inners and 1 outer) and 1 O ring per side of the truck.

I can’t right now, but 1 goes on the CV joint. 1 presses into the inside of the knuckle and 1 goes into the outside of the bearing.

If I took this back and bought the whole hub assembly do they come ready to bolt straight on seals and all?

Hey bro, im a mechanic and i would highly recommend getting the whole assembly thats already assembled and comes with the 4 mounting bolts. I made this video on how to do it. This one on the video is a 2wd but is still the same process, only difference on the 4x4 is the axle nut you have to take off. Hope this helps. - FixItPhillip

That was quite honestly the worst DYI video I've ever watched. The guy doing the video has no real idea what he's doing, why he's doing it, what tools to use, what the individual parts are and why they're important. And the video doesn't even show the actual work being done, just the after effects. I should have known when I saw the Harbor Freight tools and the Dorman parts. Words fail me.

I bought wheel bearings at Napa and they came assembled with the O ring and seal for the back side that the CV sits against. Just over 2 bills each.
Make you're life easier and get a 3" pvc female adapter and a threaded cap for it. The seal for the CV is a perfect fit on the PVC. One wrap of tape to hold it on and it goes on easily. You also need a 35mm socket to remove the nut behind the cap.

There is an o-ring (dealer part) on the inside that seals to the knuckle and a seal (available aftermarket) that presses on the outside of the bearing assembly that seals to the hub. There is a seal inside the knuckle that seals to the CV/axle that you don't necessarily have to change- I don't unless I remove the axle or knuckle.

It is a PITA to press off the hub- you'll need some 2x2x1/4 thick steel angle to fit under the bearing. The problem is that most cheap presses, like the HF models, don't have enough bed width for the hub to fit thru so you'll have to space the assembly above the bed. If you have a Napa, or similar nearby, maybe bring it to them to press apart. Pressing it back together is easy.

Here is a pic that should explain the issue. You can see the o-ring and seal here if you look close.

Who supplies the OEM bearings to Toyota?

I searched several Toyota parts suppliers, and they all sell the bearings and other pieces separately. The price for everything is under $250, but you have to assemble it yourself. Just curious if anyone sells the hub/bearing assembly already assembled with OEM Toyota parts?

    OEM were Koyo bearings.

If you are looking for the best bearing and hub option, it’s probably this guy @05Taco4x4 . He’s a member and uses either NSK or Koyo bearings.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-bearings-hubs-press-service-4x4-prerunner-nsk-koyo.537080/

You might find cheaper options on eBay.
But there have been a lot of counterfeit bearing popping up.
I’m not saying anyone would intentionally sell you a hub assembly with counterfeit parts. Just keep that in mind when you see hub assemblies list with Koyo or NSK listed at a cheap price. There’s probably a reason.
