Never had anyone key my truck, but I did have some meathead guy try to grab onto my bed one time while the truck was moving (I think I've posted about this before, but I could be wrong).

Some college kids were playing volleyball in the street (maybe not the best idea, but it was fairly late and there wasn't much traffic so whatever) so I rolled up and waited for them to move. I wasn't being aggressive or rude or anything, just wanted to get through. I guess one guy didn't like that so he decided it would be a smart idea to grab onto my truck while it was moving. I hit the brakes and told him to get off my truck and sent some salty language his way before driving off.

I'll never understand the logic of people who pick fights with cars.

Welcome to our new reality in America. I was raised to respect people and, indirectly respect them, by respecting their property. A fallout from “Do unto others as you expect them to to unto you.” Or forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us...

Now the teaching appears to be screw others because they’ve screwed over you and everyone else. They didn’t earn what they have, they just leached off the system better than you did. If you want more in this life you need to take it and stick it to these evil rich people who own Toyota Tacomas. Karl Marx would be thrilled to see every non hybrid vehicle in America keyed to teach all us oppressors a lesson.

As has been mentioned others repeatedly, that doesn't look like it's been keyed.
What we may have on our hands here, is a careless or even accident prone mutherfucker.. which doesn't immediately qualify one for asshole status.
    Sadly, we may never know.

I used to barback at a bar/nightclub, and everyone who's ever worked in the service industry knows that Thanksgiving Eve is the biggest drinking night of the year (bigger than New Years and Saint Patrick's Day combined)! On Thanksgiving Eve in 2016, I was sent to get some bags of ice from 7-Eleven because our icemaker could not keep up...

The venue where I worked is located down a narrow alley, and I made the dumb decision to drive down this alley instead of taking the back entrance...

The alley was crowded with drunk college students, and I beeped at a group of maybe three or four guys standing directly in the path of my truck; One of these pricks took offense, ran up to my truck, and start pounding on the hood of my truck. This prompted me to slam on the brakes, throw it in park, get out of the truck, and scream at the asshole "Don't touch my fucking truck!" I was bigger than the guy, and if I hadn't been on the property of my employer, I probably would have laid him out, but I common sense told me it wasn't worth it...

Not even two minutes after that incident, a fat drunk kid walked up behind my slow-moving truck and grabbed a bag of ice from the bed, then started throwing it up and down like a basketball and showing it off to his friends; I did not see this, but one of the bouncers at my bar did...

I was too busy trying not to run over drunk people to notice the bouncer tap my right front fender to tell me to stop; The drunk kid noticed the bouncer, and in a pathetic attempt to not get caught with the "evidence", he lobbed it at my truck as hard he as he could, overshot the bed, and hit the back of the cab...

The sound of the bag of ice hitting the roof of my truck prompted me to slam on the brakes and look behind me, causing me to miss the bag flying over the front of the truck; I only saw the whole fiasco take place after reviewing the dashcam footage. Needless to say, I never drove down that alley on Thanksgiving Eve again!

I've had drunks "pick fights" with my truck because I turn on the high-beams when they're blocking me from driving forward; This has happened at least twice since 2015, and the second time there was a drunk guy moseying across the street from a local dive bar to his car (he's lucky I didn't loop back around, follow him, and call the cops on him for DUI); He was staggering across slow as could be, and I turned on the high-beams. He threw up his hands in a class "WTF?" gesture and started walking towards my truck; As soon as he was out of my way, I floored it and accelerated past him...

People also automatically seemed to assume that my truck is their personal leaning post...

One time, I had just parked outside the bar where I used to work for unloading purposes, and this tall guy who was obviously hammered just starts to lean against my truck like he owns it. I politely told him over and over again "Don't lean on the Tacoma" until he obeyed, and there wasn't an issue...

Let me be the first one (surprised by that) to say “bravo”.

What you wrote has the ring of truth to it and I think exists in every human more or less.

that sucks ! I have not yet owned a vehicle that has not had an A-hole event of some type. You can park in the corner a 100 yrds away from where you are going, all alone, and some a-hole will find a way to park next to you or leave a shopping cart against your vehicle. F'rs all of them. Maybe a dash camera to catch them or identify them - then paybacks. If not - well they are still low life turd eating morons with poor health and a single digit IQ.

Everyone is an asshole. This has been known by mankind since the beginning.

For centuries this was a self limiting human characteristic. The amount of ass holiness you were allowed to disperse was directly proportionate to your ability to prevent having your ass whipped or if you had a high level of ass whipping ability it often was limited by how much time you wanted to spend whipping ass.

As fucked up as that sounds, it was damn near perfect. Sure there were a few outliers that skewed the averages, but overall the clear and concise realization that somebody was gonna get an ass whipping kept things generally civil.

Now with pussies declared a protected class, we have an asshole epidemic.

The day I bought my 2018 tacoma, I parked at trader joes to pick up some food for dinner, less than 20 minutes later, noticed someone had done a hit and run in the parking lot... l maybe owned my truck for less than 2 hours. Luckily it was very minor damage on the rear bumper, but still noticeable. pissed me off so much, people are assholes

I started parking my truck far away from the stores I so I can avoid getting dinged, I just look at it like getting a little extra exercise by walking to the store instead of being like the lazy lemmings that try to cram into the closest parking slot.
