Hey, so basically, I have an 01’ Tacoma v6 mt ext cab elocker axle with 4.88s and 285s w/ 4x4 add . I’m having a hard time finding someone interested in swapping for their 4.56s for mine so now I’m looking at 4.30s which are much more available. Anyway, my question is I found a rear 4.30 e-locker diff out of a 3rd gen 4Runner and a front 4.30 from a 97’ 4Runner would I be able to directly swap my existing diffs for the 4.30s described? Thanks for any help or advice...

Should be an easy swap over as long as the rear is an 8", you swapping third members or the whole housings?

but real question is why are you going higher in gearing?

I just swapped from 4.30's to 4.88's in my ext cab with 285/75's. I love it.

Being a 3.4 v6 and manual has its own unique differences with the 4.88s. The truck came geared like it is but with 35s when I bought it but I prefer the 33s. Basically I want to get my top end back, the 4.88s are fun as hell in certain circumstances but I want to try something different for long drives and lower my rpms a bit.

    How about 4.10's?

Edit: Nevermind...4.30's are already a compromise as you're looking for 4.56's.
I'm in Los Gatos so at least I'm close.

If you were closer I would swap, shipping would probably be a deal breaker to NM
