    Hello all,

TLD: Looking for best bang for buck and wanting to hear others advice.

I've browsed this forum a good amount and done some googling but still want some more advice. I'm looking for advice and to find the best bang for buck rock sliders and additional lights for my DCLB. Outside of normal driving to work/ around town I use my truck for overland trips and while I don't plan to do anything too crazy off-roading wise I want to be safe/prepared for anything.

    Lighting:
I know I need more lighting, already had two trips take longer than expected due to not having great visibility and driving a snails pace up the trail. I'm thinking going with a combo light bar in the lower part of my grill but not sure which one to get. I'm also open to other suggesting like a roof bar if people think those are better.

    Sliders:
I'm leaning towards the BAMF bolt on ones with a kickout since they are not far from me but they seem a little pricey. I do want bolt on ones and would prefer kickouts but i'm just not sure which are best.

Thanks in advance for all the advice/help.

I did @CaliRaisedLed sliders b/c when I got them they kept them in stock so I didn’t wait for weeks. BAMF makes amazing armor for sure.
I got a southern style off-road slimline bumper which gives you a winch Mount and spot for a light bar.
I bought GTR’s LED’s from headlight revolution and BY FAR MY MOST USED MOD. So much better than the stock lights and a lifetime warranty which I did use already on one headlight

On sliders I feel like the best thing you can do to increase the value received is buy local. Shipping on sliders is a real expense and doesn't add much value. So, if you are picking between a couple options price them with shipping and consider if you could make a day trip out of picking up sliders to save $200.

I just attached these MBRP sliders. They seem fairly solid and fairly light weight for sliders.

I recommend a set of rago ditch light mounts with rigid dually SS. It’s a quality setup with awesome light output and beam pattern. Honestly you can likely skip the bar if you go this route, I hardly use 30” bar but use the ditch lights all the time.

I did these sliders too. They're two pieces, so they ship normal UPS (not freight). They're pretty stout, but I've yet to test them out on rocks. Instillation was pretty easy, and I like how they mount up. Definitely the least expensive, they're found here: https://www.rogue-offroad.com/product-p/183101.htm If you email the company, Rogue OffRoad, Shawn should be able to provide you with a discount code before ordering. I paid about $785 OTD.

If I were to do it again, I may have bought these Victory ones because I like the lights and the step design, but they are twice as much. :annoyed:

Where are you located? There are few local guys in SoCal that do great work @GHOST SHIP in Northern Los Angeles, @Shmellmopwho in Southern LA, @weldsTaco (instagram) in San Diego. I'm very happy with my Shmell Fab sliders, all about supporting the local dude and paying a fair price with no shipping.

California central coast, which is part of why I was looking at BAMF since they are not too far from me so I could save on shipping.

I got BAMF sliders and they are great. If I were to do it again I'd get weld on.

Stronger, don't need to worry about the bolts and washers bending breaking seizing warping ect. In the back of my head getting sand moisture salt between the frame and the sliders. If I were to do it again I'd get weld on and retreat the frame where the welds are.

How much would it cost (typically) to get a set of sliders welded on? I would think the bolt-on will still be strong enough, but I don't have any experience with them.

IMO weld on would be for a truck that is dedicated off road. Weld on is permanent. You could grind it off, but that would leave the frame damaged. If you ever need to do the frame recall, Toyota might deny the claim due to "frame alteration." For a 3rd gen, especially if you are still making payments, bolt on is the way to go.

That makes sense. Mine is definitely a DD with occasional off-road use, plus it's still under warranty, so will be looking for bolt on.

I got the KC 336 and it's 16k lumens for $400. It's super bright. However, I recommend my $150 morimoto HID conversion kit. That HID kit is AMAZING. I used the caliraised brackets.
